Story time👇👇👇
Amina and the Wish for Fortune
Amina lived in a small, dusty town where the morning sun rose with the promise of a hard day's work. Her mother ran a bustling stall, selling vibrant fabrics and spices, while her older brother, Kofi, was diligently studying to become an engineer in the city. But Amina? She preferred the shade of the mango tree and the quiet hum of her own thoughts—thoughts that almost always centered on fortune arriving without effort.
Amina was a remarkably comfortable young woman. She never saw a challenge she didn't gracefully dodge.
When her mother asked her to help sort the spices, Amina’s back would mysteriously ache, or she’d suddenly need to fetch water from the well (a task she’d perform at a snail's pace, enjoying the break).
When Kofi sent home his old textbooks, hoping to inspire her, Amina used them to prop up her unsteady bed leg. "Why fill my head with things I'll never use?" she'd muse. "Amina is meant for grand things, not dusty books."
The very idea of studying made her eyes glaze over. Diligence was for those who couldn't rely on luck. She considered herself lucky, or at least, due for luck.
Her greatest pastime was sitting on the porch, watching the successful people of her village—the tailor with the new sewing machine, the farmer who bought a sturdy motorcycle, the teacher building a stone house—and feeling a deep, quiet resentment.
"Look at Mr. Okoro," she’d sigh to her friend, Tani. "He wakes before the rooster. He sweats all day. Surely, there must be an easier way for me. I am pretty, I am… charming. Fortune should simply see me and decide to bless me."
Tani, who was saving every coin she earned knitting baskets, would just shake her head and continue her work.
One evening, a celebrated storyteller, Baba Jide, visited their town. Amina, eager for any tale of instantaneous wealth, sat front row. Baba Jide spun a classic yarn about a princess who found a magic stone.
The princess had to journey through a dangerous forest, solve three complex riddles, and climb a treacherous mountain to find the stone.
When the story ended, Amina wasn't inspired by the princess's bravery. She was indignant. "Why all the trouble?" she complained loudly. "Why couldn't the stone have just appeared in her soup?"
Baba Jide looked directly at Amina, his eyes twinkling with ancient wisdom. "My dear child," he said, his voice soft but clear. "The stone is not the fortune. The journey, the riddles, the mountain—those were the fortune. They taught her how to hold the magic, how to keep the wealth."
Amina scoffed. Old man’s talk, she thought, and went home to dream of a lottery ticket she hadn't bought, a rich stranger who would simply ride into town and fall in love with her effortless existence.
Days turned into weeks, and Amina’s life remained exactly the same: comfortable, quiet, and absolutely devoid of the unearned fortune she craved. Her mother’s stall still needed help. Kofi’s letters about his challenging, yet fulfilling, studies still arrived.
One market day, a wealthy merchant from the coast did indeed arrive, seeking a local representative. He needed someone sharp, organized, and capable of managing books and dealing with vendors—someone, in short, who had studied, worked, and faced challenges.
Amina watched from the shade as the merchant spoke to the community. Her heart hammered. This is it, she thought. He will notice my grace!
But the merchant didn't notice her. He noticed Tani, the diligent basket-knitter, who had used her savings to attend evening classes and learn basic accounting. Tani didn't have to seek the job; her reputation for consistent, reliable effort spoke for itself.
As the merchant shook Tani’s hand, offering her a fair wage and a real opportunity, Amina slumped back against the tree. The sun was hot, her hands were empty, and for the first time, the comfort of the shade felt less like a haven and more like a prison of her own making.
The fortune was there, standing right in front of her, but Amina realized, with a sour taste of truth in her mouth, that she had never bothered to learn how to reach out and grasp it. She was still waiting for it to appear in her soup.
Would you like to hear about what Amina decided to do next?

The Importance of Integrity in Business
Once upon a time, in a small town, there were two business owners, Alex and Ben. Both owned hardware stores, and their shops were located right across the street from each other.
The Story
Alex was known for his cunning business tactics. He would often exaggerate the quality of his products, charge customers more than necessary, and even sell used items as new. On the other hand, Ben prioritized integrity in his business dealings. He was transparent about his products, priced them fairly, and stood behind their quality.
The Outcome
As time passed, both businesses faced challenges, but their approaches to these challenges differed greatly. Alex's customers began to distrust him, and his business suffered. People would often complain about the quality of his products, and word-of-mouth spread quickly about his questionable business practices.
Meanwhile, Ben's customers raved about his products and the excellent service they received. They appreciated his honesty and fairness, and as a result, Ben's business flourished. Customers would often refer their friends and family to Ben's store, and his reputation in the community grew.
The Lesson
The story of Alex and Ben teaches us the importance of having integrity in business. When businesses prioritize integrity, they build trust with their customers, foster loyalty, and create a positive reputation. This, in turn, can lead to long-term success and growth.
On the other hand, businesses that compromise on integrity may experience short-term gains but ultimately suffer from a loss of trust and reputation.
The Takeaway
In today's competitive business landscape, integrity is more important than ever. By prioritizing transparency, fairness, and honesty, businesses can build strong relationships with their customers, establish a positive reputation, and drive long-term success.
As the saying goes, "Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching." By embracing integrity, businesses can create a strong foundation for success and build a loyal customer base.

The Importance of Having a Playground in Schools
Playgrounds are an essential component of a school's infrastructure, providing a safe and engaging environment for students to play, learn, and develop important life skills. Here are some reasons why having a playground in schools is crucial:
1. Promotes Physical Activity
Playgrounds encourage students to engage in physical activity, which is essential for their overall health and well-being. Regular exercise helps children develop strong bones and muscles, improves their cardiovascular health, and boosts their immune system.
2. Enhances Cognitive Development
Playgrounds provide a platform for children to explore, experiment, and learn through play. This type of experiential learning helps children develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity.
3. Fosters Social Skills
Playgrounds offer a social setting where children can interact with their peers, make friends, and develop essential social skills like communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
4. Supports Emotional Well-being
Playgrounds provide a safe space for children to express themselves, manage stress, and develop emotional resilience. Playtime can help reduce anxiety and depression in children.
5. Encourages Teamwork and Collaboration
Playgrounds often feature team-based games and activities that promote teamwork, collaboration, and healthy competition. These experiences help children develop important life skills like leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
6. Provides a Break from Academics
Playgrounds offer a much-needed break from the academic rigors of the classroom. Playtime can help children recharge, refocus, and return to their studies with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
7. Supports Inclusive Education
Playgrounds can be designed to be inclusive, providing opportunities for children with disabilities to participate in play activities alongside their peers. This helps promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in schools.
8. Prepares Children for Life
Playgrounds provide a platform for children to develop essential life skills like risk-taking, decision-making, and self-regulation. These skills are critical for success in all areas of life.
In conclusion, having a playground in schools is essential for promoting physical activity, cognitive development, social skills, emotional well-being, teamwork, and inclusive education. By providing a safe and engaging environment for students to play and learn, playgrounds play a critical role in shaping the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and citizens. We can simply make this a reality.
