I was just 13 years old when someone I called “uncle” almost took advantage of me. Yes, you read that right. It’s a painful memory, but I’m sharing it again because the lessons I learned could protect a teen out there.
It started innocently enough—he called me over to see a new bed he had supposedly bought for me to take to school as he had been notified that I needed a six-spring bed for boarding school.
I remember sitting comfortably in his living room with his much younger niece, feeling safe. Then he asked me to come into his bedroom to see the bed, but when the little girl tried to follow us, he shushed her away. That should have been my first red flag. But I trusted him. After all, he was "family."
As I stepped into that room, I realized something was wrong. He came at me.
Thankfully, by God’s grace, I escaped untouched. But the experience left me shaken and wiser.
Here’s what I learned from that day—lessons I hope every teen reading this takes to heart:
Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, it probably is. Don’t ignore that uncomfortable feeling. It’s better to be wrong and safe than polite and sorry.
Question Unusual Behavior: Why did he isolate me? Why did he send the little girl away? These were signs I should have noticed earlier. Always ask yourself: Does this make sense?
Act Fast When in Danger: The moment you sense danger, don’t hesitate—speak up, run, or call for help. Silence and hesitation can make you vulnerable.
Dear teen, wisdom is profitable to direct.
Protect yourself, trust your instincts, and never let “familiarity” blind you to danger.
Stay vigilant—your safety matters! 💪💛

I received two beautiful news today.
First was the person I helped to write a memo. He sent me a message this morning that he has been promoted from a security man to a senior admin officer with staff working under him. I will tell the story of how this happened.
Second was a teen in our teen personal development group reporting that since he started our challenge that he has not told a lie. Like, he laid emphasis on it. My heart is so full of joy.
April started with good news.
Happy New Month.
May good news keep rolling in.

Ever heard of a talented child?
Like those children that tend to grab concepts very quickly in class.
You hear teachers say that they are gifted.
There are two sides to it.
Some of the gifted children do not go the extra mile because they believe they are enough and they get stuck on the way.
Some go the extra mile, and they do wonders.
I wish I learnt very early that being talented or being gifted was not enough.
I wish I learnt about growth mindset very early enough.
Dear Teens, embrace a growth mindset.
Never you think that you know it. Don't stop learning.
Again, never think that there is anything you cannot learn. You can learn and understand anything once you put your mind to it.
Embrace growth mindset. See problems as opportunity to grow.

How Peer Pressure Messes Up Teens (And Nobody Talks About It)
You know what’s wild?
One moment your teen is chill, focused, and knows who they are…
Next thing—BOOM—one squad of “cool kids” enters the chat and everything flips.
Suddenly, they’re doing dumb things they don’t even like.
Laughing at jokes they don’t find funny.
Living for likes, clout, and fake approval.
Why? Because nobody wants to be the “odd one out.”
Peer pressure doesn’t just make teens act wild — it slowly kills their originality.
Parents, don’t wait till your child becomes a clone of the crowd.
Start the convo NOW.

Success isn’t magic — it’s habits.
Here’s what sets thriving teens apart from the rest: Here are 3 things winning teens do (that you can start today):
✨ They don’t wait to “feel like it” — they show up anyway.
✨ They ask better questions, not just follow the crowd.
✨ They choose friends who sharpen them, not drain them.
Start small. Watch how everything changes.

There is this fulfilment in achieving all the goals you set for yourself in a day.
This was exactly what happened to me yesterday. I had set 3 goals; 2 academic writings and to record a video. That video was actually an assignment that I needed to submit.
I started with the writings. It took me say 4 hours to get the two academic writings done.
I then started with the video. The video recording was not recording , but I had already told me that we die here today. I finally got a fair one to submit. I was happy that I did.
When I was giving my report to my accountability coach on how may day went yesterday, she could hear the excitement in my voice that she even had to comment about it.
She said, "Well done lady Modesta
You pushed through
Keep pushing
When you achieve your goals it’s always an awesome feeling."
Reading her comment gave me another feeling of excitement.
I pray you achieve all your goals today.
Remember to persevere.

Understand that there is a difference between "upcoming and up and coming," cause recently people have used the word "upcoming" a lot because of a recent saga between a record label and an artist.
I keep reading things like "as an upcoming artist, " and so on.
Learn today that you don't use upcoming to refer to an artist, or a human being. Rather you say "up and coming" artist.
Up and coming means young or emerging talent or professional who has the potential to do well.
Upcoming refers to something that will happen soon.
You only use upcoming for events and the likes, not for a human being.
Example : An up and coming artist will be performing in the upcoming event.
