Governor Amuneke well done. This is not just Anambra, but also the Nigeria political system being showcased to the world. They were meant to believe we practice democracy here. As so within, so without. As it is in the state level, so it is in the federal level.
In Anambra House of Assembly, you are not allowed to speak for your people, you are only allowed to say what pleases the Governor ---------- Hon Bernard Udemezue (ISI ENYI)
Suspended Anambra lawmaker, Bernard Udemezue, has broken his silence following his removal from the State House of Assembly, alleging that his suspension was a consequence of his transparency to the people.
In a video shared by Voice TV Nigeria on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Udemezue claimed that he was punished for publicly disclosing the constituency empowerment funds allocated to lawmakers.
“I was suspended for being transparent to my people,” he said. “Why the governor is angry is not why the state of assembly is angry. The House of Assembly is angry because I made public the amount we receive as constituency empowerment funds. This money is our money, meant for my constituents, not for politicians. It’s meant for the people"
Udemezue further accused the state legislature of restricting lawmakers from speaking independently, insisting that the governor’s influence dominates the Assembly.
“You are not allowed to speak for your people. You are only allowed to say what pleases the governor. I was elected by my people, not the governor, and there is supposed to be separation of powers"
According to him, the governor had earlier told lawmakers during a retreat that when the ruling party controls both the executive and the legislature, “there is no separation of power.”

The cradle of Igbo civilization. The home to Obu Uga, the dynasty that has witnessed 34 kings. The dynasty that crowns Eze Nri before there will be Eze Nri kingdom. Eze Obidiegwu Onyesoh of Nri kingdom was crowned at Obu Uga in Enugwu Aguleri in February 1988. So did Eze Tabansi Udene in 1938.
The home to Agwuve, the Trinity tree. A three big trees connected by one root, representing Aguleri Akwo n,ato. 3 indivisible family United by one root. You may need to know the reason Aguleri people prays with 3 kolanut. It may interest you why Aguleri quarters named as Igboezunu, Ivite and Ugwu na Adagbe (Enugwu na Eziagulu) in this case appears as one. Aguleri has 4 communities but traditionally recognized as 3. Agulu nwa Eri is a man full of mysterious records. History had it that he had 3 wives. One had 2 sons. The rest had one each. However, despite one of them having one more than the rest, he still had to share things according to the number of wives and not the number of children. This strategy has managed to bind us together for life. It doesn’t give room to injustice. It revived on checks and balances. Blood relationships was more important than social connections. The rule made Unity in diversity a priority.
When the tradition was about to be influenced by a foreign culture, our father, Agulu sent us a reminder through one of his descendants, Agwuve, who was the second Ezeora, since the birth of a foreign civilization known as the Ezeship. Then, it knew no corruption, but our ancestors sees far more than we can ever think we could reach. They knew my generation would come. They even knew what would happen after us. Agulu sent us a reminder through Eze Agwuve, by establishing a footprint as a symbol of unity among ndi Aguleri, by allowing the Trinity to grow on the tomb of Eze Agwuve after his demise. Remember, Eze Agwuve was the second king.
If you do something in the front of an elder for the first time, he would not react immediately, he would first look into the matter, and understand the direction and consequences, then he would offer you a lecture or lesson on or during the second time.
The message is simple; “Ndi Aguleri, as this development has come to be, it is not a bad one my children, but do not forget that 3x3 is 9. 9x9 is 81. 81 can be multiplied to thousands, millions and billions. Yes, otu osisi na-eme ovia. One tree can transform to a forest. You are opening a way that would let water flow into this forest in the future, which is (this generation). But you know that, a river (civilization) does not flow through the forest (this land) without bringing down some trees (some cultures, some traditions, some beliefs, some relationships, and some lives). The ancestors speaks in with nature. They knew a time like this would come, when an Igbo would deny been an Igbo, rather chose to be family with other people. A time when our native language would be too local for us to speak, a time when our native names would no longer matter, a time when our farmland would be taken over. A time when our traditions would be competing with a foreign tradition in our land a time Obu Uga would change to Obu Gad and a time when Nigeria would happen to everyone, they sent us a message immediately through Agwuve. By growing 3 trees connected by one root at the tomb of Agwuve. They saw the civilization, and sensed the effects and send warnings immediately after observing the first Eze. That warning is still valid till date, but I’m not sure if it’s still in practice. Agwuve trinity tree represents Agulu and his wives. Agulu is the root. The trees represents the wives. All the fruits and the flowers from each of the three trees receive equal attention to the call of the father through their mother.
Enugwu Aguleri is the reason for this revelation. You may need to know more, come to Obu Uga.
