DG/CE RECEIVES PERMANENT SECRETARY, FMOT

The Director General/Chief Executive , Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, had the pleasure of receiving the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Transportation (FMOT), Engr. Olufunsho O. Adebiyi, in his office this evening.

The Permanent Secretary is in the Institute as the Special Guest of Honour to officially declare open NITT’s 1st Convocation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the Institute’s history.

He was accompanied by the Director, Transport Planning and Coordination, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Mrs. Jane Ojinta.

The visit underscores the strong institutional relationship between NITT and the Federal Ministry of Transportation and the shared commitment to advancing Nigeria’s transport sector.

NITT's Partner Commences Installation of ANPR Cameras in FCT

The concessionaire partner of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Asia Arab Investment (AAI), has commenced the installation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and other associated equipment in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The installation marks the commencement of the first phase of the implementation of the project across six selected states of the federation, and the FCT.

The ANPR system is expected to facilitate the automated identification and monitoring of vehicles, providing valuable data for transport planning, traffic management and improved security.

The pilot phase is expected to provide valuable insights that will guide the eventual expansion of the technology to other parts of the country, further reinforcing NITT/AAI's roles in driving digital transformation within Nigeria's transport sector.

Today, the Liaison Officer , Mr Ademilola Olusesan Johnson, led some members of staff on a courtesy visit to Ekiti Cargo International Airport, along Ijan village for possible collaboration.

It was an insightful session with the Airport Manager, Mr Adeosun Olusegun and Head, Human Resource Personnel , Mr Gideon Albert, who took us round the facilitates at the airport.

Discussions centred on how to explore possible ways and partnership to strengthen operations, digital transformation of the airport and create more value together for effective and efficient transportation system for the betterment of the people and growth of the centre.

NITT UNVEILS ADMIN DASHBOARD MODEL FOR ENHANCED NATIONAL TRANSPORT DATABANK MANAGEMENT

In readiness for the implementation of the the National Transport Databank (NTDB), the Management of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria, has today, 18th June, 2026 unveiled a multimodal transport databank management Admin Dashboard model.

Speaking at the event, the Director General/Chief Executive, Dr. Bayero Salih Farah, who was represented by the Director, Transport Research and Intelligence, Dr. Ibrahim Baba Mundi, noted that the project was meant to digitise historical data, as well as manage real-time transport data.

He further stressed that the dashboard would be scalable and amenable to constant reviews.

While appreciating the project, other members of the NITT Management suggested ways to improve the dashboard.

During the demonstration, the project consultant and leader of Avaro. Co team, Dr. Temitope Alabi, highlighted the unique features of the dashboard.
