Over the past few months, I’ve noticed something among many teachers and working professionals.

Are AIs Robots? Let’s Clear the Confusion

Many people hear “AI” and instantly picture robots marching around, talking like humans. But here’s the gist:
AI is the brain (software).
Robots are the body (hardware).

Robots can be powered by AI, but AI itself doesn’t need a body, it can live in your phone, computer, or even your banking app.
Think about it this way:
When WhatsApp suggests replies, That’s AI, no robot in sight.

When a self-driving car makes decisions on the road, That’s AI + robot body working together.

So no, not all AI are robots. Sometimes it’s just invisible “smart software” helping us daily.
In short: AI is the brain, robot is the bouncer. Together? They can do amazing things.

Teaching high school students about the wonders of technology has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career!

From introducing them to coding and programming languages to exploring the endless possibilities of emerging technologies like blockchain and AI, witnessing their curiosity and enthusiasm is truly inspiring.

Not only does teaching tech empower students to become digital creators and problem solvers, but it also prepares them for the rapidly evolving 21st-century workforce.

Every day is an opportunity to ignite their passion for innovation and creativity, and I couldn't be more grateful to be a part of their journey. A very very big thank you to Know the Blocks Maven for the platform it has given to me to be able to reach out to such young minds.

“One day, one child I train will build something that changes Nigeria forever.”
in August, I had the privilege of standing at the very front of history, as part of the opening phase of the August 2025 Build-A-Thon Holiday Camp in Abuja, organized by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy.
In front of me were brilliant young minds aged 10–18, eyes wide with curiosity. We wrote their first lines of code. We explored embedded systems that could one day power smart homes, smart farms… maybe even smart cities.
But here’s what hit me the most,
When a child realizes “I can build this”, you can almost see their future rewriting itself right there in front of you.
This is why I show up.
Not just to teach tech, but to plant seeds of innovation in the minds that will lead Nigeria’s future.
One computer, one lesson, one child at a time, that’s how we change a nation.
And I am here for it. Every. Single. Time.

What is AI? Let’s Break It Down
Artificial Intelligence (AI) sounds big and scary, but it’s simply:
Machines that can mimic human intelligence, learning, reasoning, and making decisions.
You’ve already used AI today without realizing it:
📱 Autocorrect finishing your texts

🎶 Spotify or Boomplay recommending songs

🛒 Jumia or Konga suggesting products you might like

That’s AI quietly working in the background.
But here’s the fun part: AI doesn’t “think” like us. It recognizes patterns in data and predicts the next move. (Kind of like your friend who always knows you’ll buy suya after night classes.
So next time you hear “AI,” don’t picture robots taking over.
Picture smart assistants helping us make life easier, faster, and more fun.
This is just the beginning. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be breaking AI down into bite-sized, beginner-friendly lessons, no jargon, just gist.
