🔤 BLEND, JUMP & LEARN! 🦘📚
Who says blending has to be done sitting down? 😍
Today, our little learners practised blending two-letter words through a gross motor activity!

First, they identified the two-letter words. Then came the fun part — they jumped into the word and jumped out! 🦘
While learning to blend, they were also:
✨ Strengthening their leg muscles
✨ Improving balance and coordination
✨ Developing gross motor skills
✨ Building confidence through movement
✨ Connecting physical movement with learning

🌸🐝 HOW TO TEACH YOUR LEARNER TO ASSOCIATE NUMBERS WITH OBJECTS! 🔢🧱

Children need to understand that a number represents a quantity, not just recognise what the number looks like.

Here’s a simple step-by-step approach you can try at home or in the classroom:
1️⃣ IDENTIFY THE NUMBER
Start by showing the learner a number and allowing them to name it.
For example: 5 — “Five!”

2️⃣ FIND THE QUANTITY
Ask the child to pick 5 objects—building blocks, pencils, bottle tops, toys, etc.

3️⃣ MATCH NUMBER TO OBJECTS
Place the number 5 beside the 5 objects and say:
👉🏽 “This is 5, and we have 5 blocks.”

4️⃣ COUNT TOGETHER
Encourage the learner to touch or move each object as they count:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5!

5️⃣ LET THE CHILD DO IT INDEPENDENTLY
Give them different numbers and objects and allow them to make the connection themselves.

6️⃣ MAKE IT FUN! 🎉
Use everyday objects and turn it into a game:
🧱 “Can you give me 7 blocks?”
🖍️ “Can you find 3 crayons?”
🍎 “Can you put 4 apples here?”

💡 Remember: Hands-on activities help children move from simply recognising numbers to actually understanding quantity and number sense.
