Journey to Allah
10 days are already over.
Alhamdulillah
O Allah. Save the innocents and stop the hatred amongst each other. Protect us.
O Allah, for You I fasted, in You I believe, upon You I rely, and with Your provision I break my fast.
Accept it from me, forgive my sins, and make this iftar a source of blessings for me and my family. Ameen 🤲🌙

The idea that Shayṭān is chained in Ramadan comes from a hadith of the Prophet ﷺ reported in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim:
“When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.”
So why do we still sin?
1️⃣ Not all evil comes directly from Shayṭān
We also have the nafs (our lower self/desires). Even without external whispers, habits, addictions, anger, pride, and desires can still push us toward sin.
2️⃣ Some scholars say “major devils” are chained
It may refer to the most rebellious devils, not every single whispering influence. So evil influence is reduced — but not completely eliminated.
3️⃣ We’ve built habits
If someone has practiced a sin for years, it doesn’t automatically disappear just because Ramadan starts. Ramadan weakens Shayṭān — it doesn’t erase our learned behavior overnight.
4️⃣ Ramadan reduces evil — it doesn’t remove free will
If sins were impossible, there would be no test. Ramadan makes obedience easier and sin harder — but choice remains.
Think of it like this:
If a thief is locked away but you’ve already trained yourself to steal, the temptation may still exist inside you.
Ramadan is a mercy — it gives us a spiritual advantage. If we still struggle, it shows us where we need to work on our nafs even after Ramadan ends.
May Allah make us among those who truly benefit from it 🤲
Ya Allah, remove sadness from our hearts, heal what is broken inside us, and replace every tear with relief and happiness. Ameen
