“To whom much is given, much is required.”

This belief is at the core of SEGEI’s work and mission.

We are proud to announce that SEGEI is an official partner of the inaugural Pay It Forward Summit, hosted by the Scholars Equity Network, taking place at the Obama Presidential Center this August.

This partnership is especially meaningful to our Founder, , a proud alumna of the (Class of 2007), whose journey continues to shape SEGEI’s commitment to expanding access to education and opportunity for girls and young women globally.

Through our work, SEGEI has:
• Reached over 10,000 marginalized girls and women with sexual and reproductive health information and services
• Supported 50+ vulnerable girls to access and remain in school
• Equipped 80 young women across continents through the Evolve Mentorship Program

We are honored to stand alongside a global network of leaders committed to paying it forward and creating pathways for the next generation.

Join us on August 14 in Chicago.

From scholarship to self-driven success, and now, meet the latest Master’s degree holder 🎓✨

We are incredibly proud to celebrate , one of our SEGEI scholars, who has taken her journey even further by earning her Master’s degree!

While our program supported her through university, seeing her rise beyond that and pursue higher education on her own is a powerful reminder of what happens when young women are given the right foundation, they don’t just stop, they soar.
Jane, we are so inspired by your resilience, ambition, and the courage to keep going.
You are the embodiment of why we do what we do.

Congratulations, Jane. We can’t wait to see all the ways you will continue to shine and impact the world

Recently, our founder visited the IMPUHWE Club at . These adolescent girls have been one of SEGEI's most faithful partners; fundraising for the SEGEI Scholarship Program and exchanging letters of their schools, their communities, their dreams, with girls in the scholarship program.

Their partnership has consistently shown that solidarity has no borders, girls are already choosing each other.

During her visit, the girls asked thoughtful and challenging questions that remind you that adolescent girls are paying attention.

To the amazing girls of the IMPUHWE Club, we say thank you for your partnership and we are cheering for you from Nigeria, with the same energy you have poured into our girls in the SEGEI Scholarship Program.

To everyone who has supported the so far, thank you. Your generosity is already changing lives.

Every contribution, every share, every word of encouragement is helping us move closer to our goal of sending 100 girls to school in 2026.

Education opens doors, builds confidence, and creates opportunities that last a lifetime. And because of this community, more girls will have the chance to learn, grow, and dream bigger.

We are getting closer, but we are not there yet. If you believe that every girl deserves the chance to go to school, we invite you to join us.

Some opportunities can change how a girl sees herself.

For T**ilayo Mesaiyete, the SEGEI Scholarship was more than financial support. It was a reminder that someone believed in her future and her potential to succeed. Today, T**ilayo is not just that young girl from Waru, Abuja, she is a Banking and Finance Undergrad, on her path to a brighter future.

When girls’ rights are recognized, their needs are met, and their voices are heard, they begin to see possibilities where there once was doubt. They grow in confidence, pursue their dreams, and become powerful forces for change in their communities.

This is the impact we strive for every day by supporting girls to; go to school, stay in school and believe in themselves and the futures they are capable of building.
Because when you invest in a girl, you invest in a stronger tomorrow.

This year's World Health Day theme, “Together for health. Stand with science,” reminds us that science plays a vital role in protecting our health and shaping a safer future for our world.

But standing with science also means ensuring that girls and women, are part of not only as beneficiaries of scientific progress, but as researchers, innovators, and leaders helping to shape the solutions our communities need.

At SEGEI, we believe empowering girls with knowledge, opportunity, and confidence today helps build the scientists, health leaders, and changemakers of tomorrow.

Because a healthier future requires everyone at the table.

So don't stand just for science alone, but science that leaves no one behind

We are celebrating our founder, 🎉🎉🎉

This past Sunday, Onyinye was awarded the Love Impact Grant by , a grant given to someone who lives with compassion and responds to the needs of others with love, service, and generosity in tangible ways.

We could not think of a more fitting description of the woman who founded Strong Enough Girls' Empowerment Initiative in 2016 and has spent nearly a decade building systems that change the trajectory of adolescent girls' lives in Nigeria.

This grant will send 16 girls to school in 2026, contributing directly to SEGEI's Next 100 Campaign, which aims to raise $10,000 to support 100 girls' education.

On Saturday March 28th, we gathered from across the world to celebrate the SEGEI vision and all it has yielded.

We heard from our scholarship recipients, such as Deborah, Ruqqayah, T**i, and Mercy, young women who once needed someone to believe in them and are now reaching back to lift others.

We celebrated 10 years of education, mentorship, and possibility, but we also looked ahead to the future with these powerful words by our keynote speaker - Every Girl Can Lead.

It was an evening of celebration and honest reflection and we thank everyone who showed up, spoke up, gave, and believed, thank you for being part of this decade. And thank you for saying yes to the next one.

The celebration is not yet over because our Next 100 Campaign is still live, and your support has gotten us to hitting 27% of our $10,000 goal.

Every girl on the other side of that target is waiting.

We had a beautiful virtual event today celebrating 10 years of empowering girls and women and uplifting communities. 💜🎉🥳
