From 20 to 887: A Testament to Growth and Grace

Just last year during BIG24, we could barely gather 20 volunteers who believed in the vision.
Fast forward to today, and 887 people have shown interest in joining the BIG25 Volunteer Team.

That’s not just a number. That’s growth. That’s momentum. That’s legacy in motion.
When we first started, we had more passion than resources. More vision than visibility. But we moved anyway with faith, grit, and a fire that couldn’t be put out.

And now, I’m watching something remarkable unfold.

It’s easy to celebrate growth on the outside, but behind the scenes, greatness comes at a cost and I’m paying it in installments of sacrifice, persistence, late nights, and unwavering belief.

We’re not just recruiting volunteers.
We’re building a movement.
We’re crafting a story worth remembering.
We’re helping teenagers in underserved schools start early and go global through digital skills, vision casting, and real empowerment.

BIG25 isn’t just an event.
It’s a mission. A responsibility. A calling to do more for the generation that’s coming behind us.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The BIG25 Campaign is Here! 🌍

BIG25 : Empowering 10,000 Youth with Digital Skills.

We’re excited to officially announce the launch of the BIG25 Campaign a life-changing initiative by BIGFoundation (Building Innovative Growth Foundation) to empower 10,000 underserved youth with in-demand digital skills that will shape their future and unlock global opportunities.

For too long, talent in low-income communities has gone unnoticed, not because of lack of potential but lack of access. BIG25 is our bold response to that reality.

This campaign will:

✅ Equip youth with digital workplace tools, from productivity to freelancing
✅ Provide free virtual training and mentorship from industry professionals
✅ Support top performers with starter packs to launch their careers
✅ Foster inclusivity with a 50% female participation target

Timeline:

Planning & Volunteer Onboarding: July–August 2025
Virtual Training Bootcamp: September 1 – October 5, 2025
Graduation & Rewards Ceremony: Early October

Why it Matters :

We’re not just teaching skills, we’re unlocking destinies. This campaign is designed to help teenagers and school leavers who cannot afford formal education, yet have a fire to learn, grow, and thrive in the digital economy.

Through community, mentorship, and training, BIG25 will build a generation of digital creators, problem solvers, and global citizens — all starting from local communities in Nigeria and beyond.

SCHOOL VISIT REPORT: 002/100 | IHIMA COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL, OBEIBA IHIMA

Students Impacted: 53 Students (Verified by attendance records)

We successfully engaged 53 students during our visit to Ihima Community Secondary School, Obeiba Ihima. We delivered a comprehensive session on the importance of responsible social media use. The focus was on teaching students how to use social media platforms to enhance their education and career opportunities, while avoiding the dangers of misuse, such as cyberbullying, misinformation, and time wastage. Through practical examples and group discussions, students gained valuable insights into managing their digital footprint and building a positive online presence.

As part of our mission at BIG24, an initiative focused on educating, transforming, and empowering secondary school students across Kogi State.

Our program addresses two core areas:

1. Responsible Social Media Use: Helping students leverage social media for learning and career growth while promoting responsible online behavior.

2. In-Demand Tech Skills Development: Equipping students with essential technical skills that are highly sought after in today's job market.

PROGRAM GOALS & PROGRESS

Our ultimate goal is to visit 100 schools, impact 5,000 students, and enroll 500 students in digital skills training programs. We are happy to report the following progress so far:

School visited : 002 out of 100
Student impacted : 165 out of 5,000
Digital Skills Enrollment : 000 out of 500 (registration ongoing)

NEXT STEPS

We will continue to follow up with the students and staff to ensure the lessons learned are being applied. Digital skills enrollment is ongoing, and we are organizing a follow-up visit to assist interested students in signing up for the training.

BIG24 is dedicated to educating, transforming, and empowering secondary school students in Kogi State. Our mission is to equip these young individuals with the skills they need to navigate the digital world responsibly, develop essential technical skills, and build confidence through communication.

The Challenge

Our students face challenges: the overwhelming impact of social media, a gap in skills needed for the modern job market, and struggles with communication.

BIG24 is tackling these head-on:

1. Responsible Social Media Use: Guiding students to use social media positively for learning and growth.

2. In-Demand Tech Skills: Equipping students with the skills needed for the future job market.

3. Spelling Bee Competitions: Building confidence, vocabulary, and public speaking skills.
