A technique to teach to kids: Pause, Reflect, Respond

This simple technique can help you turn impulsive reactions into thoughtful responses, leading to better outcomes in your interactions.

💡 Here's how it works:
1️⃣ Trigger: Something happens that provokes an emotional reaction.
2️⃣ Instead of reacting immediately, take a 90-second pause. This moment gives your brain the time it needs to shift gears.
3️⃣ During this pause, focus on:

Taking a deep breath.
Resisting the urge to act impulsively.
Naming how you feel.
Putting your ego aside.
Thinking through the consequences.

Support Children to respond positively 🩵

Check on your kids’ mental health just as much as you check their grades.
