Happy children’s Day.
Teamwork and creativity Initiative knows that children are the bedrock of the future that is why through the children day’s program, we aim to impact 100+ JSS 1 students yearly in Nigeria, through the YIFA SKILL-CITY project by reducing the margin between basic education and soft skills also to help bridge the digital divide and level the fields to increase quality education in line with the UN SDG #4.
Reasons why children should be digital literate:
Digital skills are not just a supplement to traditional learning; they have become a fundamental necessity for students to thrive in the modern world.
To enhance your educational opportunity and build communication skills.
Digital skills are the bridge between knowledge and application, empowering students to bring their ideas to life.

PadHER project, our new phase of "End Period Poverty program", strategically designed to support adolescent girls and women in marginalized communities with sanitary pads and toiletries in order to promote good menstrual health and wellbeing feeding into the SDGs 3 of the United Nations - Menstruation is a sign of female health and vitality and should no longer be shrouded in fear, shame or embarrassment, rather women should be empowered and upheld in dignity by changing the practices, cultural norms and restrictions that sees menstrual hygiene as taboo.

As we continue to advocate and promote menstrual hygiene cause, we urge the federal, state and local government to articulate a menstrual hygiene management framework with relevant policies that can provide affordable, accessible, inclusive menstruation kits, and ultimately eradicate taxes levied on sanitary pads.

Our team at in collaboration with volunteers from visited the New Kuchingoro IDP camp last Saturday, 25th March, to empower and educate young girls on menstrual health as they grow and transition into adulthood. We supplied sanitary pads and toiletries. We also engaged them in conversations relating to their health and personal concerns.

We appreciate all our donors, sponsors and most importantly volunteers.

Because of conflicts and insurgencies, internally displaced women are disproportionately affected by the loss of livelihood, gender-based violence, and difficulty accessing education and healthcare services.
As we celebrate , let us join forces with Skills Africa Network to and create a future full of opportunities for women and girls, particularly those living in IDPs.

FOUR MYTHS AND FACTS ABOUT MENSTRUATION

Menstruation is not just blood: it's also the lining of the uterus that sheds and flushes itself with blood every month. It's not something you can CHOOSE NOT TO HAVE; it's just a part of your body that happens.
1 in 10 girls in sub-Saharan Africa misses school at least four days per month due to their menstrual cycle.
Many women and girls do not have access to materials to manage their menstruation, especially in times of emergency -- natural disasters and conflicts.

Myth 1: women are unclean and should be secluded while menstruating

Several cultural beliefs have been reported to see menstruation as an impurity hence menstruating women are secluded because of those beliefs. There is nothing unclean about menstruation, it is normal blood that flows in every living human blood stream. The only difference is that this blood is a monthly discharge in women. It's not something you can CHOOSE NOT TO HAVE; it's just a part of your body that happens.

Myth 2: Menstruating blood stinks

Menstrual blood is regular blood. This myth is probably because menstrual blood is discharged from the va**na. And because va**nas are a normal part of the female body, there is nothing wrong with menstrual blood. And it has no odor.

Myth 3: Sanitary pads should be covered when purchased.
Buying sanitary pads is like buying soap toothpaste and detergent, they are all personal hygiene products there should be no shame when purchasing sanitary towels.

Myth 4: Bed rest is a must during your period.

Sure, you should get plenty of sleep during
your period, but you should always get plenty of exercises, too. You’ll feel better if you get up and get out there (especially since exercise has been shown to alleviate cramps and brighten your mood)!

Girls and women who have been internally displaced don't have the resources to have their period in a dignified manner. To help them manage their periods with dignity, we Skills Africa Network visit internally displaced camps quarterly with sanitary pads and other hygiene products through our "Pad Her Initiative”.

Every girl has a right to an education

Her right to lead.
Her right to learn.
Her right to choose.

Women and girls are vital to the future of Afghanistan, and the world. As we approach , repeat after us: Every girl has a right to an education.

11/10/2022

Young girls have the right to a secure, well-educated, and healthy life throughout their development as women and especially during these crucial years. Girls have the power to transform the world if they are given the right assistance when they are still adolescents, as well as when they become the educated women, mothers, business owners, mentors, household heads, and political leaders of tomorrow.
The strength of girls is being demonstrated.
In honor of International Day of the Girl Child, let's acknowledge both the rights of girls and the issues they confront globally in order to provide for a better life and future for them.
