BAZE UNIVERSITY STRENGTHENS GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS WITH KENYAN EDUCATIONAL DELEGATION

Chancellor and Founder of Baze University, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed, PhD, FSAN, hosted a high-level educational partnership delegation from Kenya as part of the University’s growing internationalization efforts. The visit follows similar engagements with delegations from Sierra Leone and Senegal, reflecting Baze University’s commitment to strengthening global academic partnerships.

🎙️ SHOWCASING THE NEXT GENERATION OF BROADCASTERS!

Students of the Department of Mass Communication, Baze University, Abuja, demonstrated their presentation and broadcasting skills during the Newscasting Competition organised by the Screen and Scribe Association.

The competition provided a valuable learning experience for students across 100 to 400 levels, helping them gain practical insight into professional news presentation and broadcasting.

Baze University Architecture students showcased innovative housing design proposals through a Live Project developed in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development under the Karsana Renewed Hope Housing Programme.

The initiative provided students with hands-on experience working with real clients, receiving expert feedback, and designing solutions to address Nigeria’s housing needs. It is another testament to Baze University’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and industry-driven learning.

BAZE UNIVERSITY HOSTS AFRICA’S FIRST INTERNATIONAL IMPROV AND PLAYBACK THEATRE FESTIVAL

Baze University is proud to be part of history as Nigeria and Africa host the first-ever International Improv and Playback Theatre Festival.

The week-long festival, which commenced on Sunday, June 21, features 15 international facilitators leading intensive workshops daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Baze University. The evenings are dedicated to performances and showcases held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Nest Resource Centre, Wuse II, Abuja.

Organised by Access to Play, the festival aims to make improv and playback theatre more accessible to Nigerians and Africans. The event also coincides with the organisation’s 11th anniversary, marking over a decade of promoting creativity, storytelling, and community engagement since its founding as Playback Nigeria.

At the opening ceremony, held at the Department of Arts and Culture Exhibition Pavilion, the Vice-Chancellor of Baze University, Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi, was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Osita Agbu. Also in attendance were the Dean of Student Affairs, Hajiya Walida Siddique Isa, alongside representatives of various student support units of the University.

At Baze University, we remain committed to fostering creativity, innovation, cultural exchange, and experiential learning, providing our students with opportunities to engage with global ideas and transformative artistic expressions.

The Founder and Chancellor of Baze University, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed PhD FSAN, has pledged ₦25 million to support research into indigenous Nigerian knowledge systems following a thought-provoking inaugural lecture by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abiodun Adeniyi.

The Seventh Inaugural Lecture of Baze University, held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, attracted academics, policymakers, traditional rulers, students, alumni, media practitioners, and other distinguished guests to the university auditorium in Abuja. Prof. Adeniyi delivered a lecture titled, “How Your Village Is Following You: Mobility, Memory and the Mediated Persistence of Belonging.”
