Kick Starting the Celebration of the OGP Week in Nigeria, Today we join our partners, civil society, media from the OGP Community for a Press Conference on the State of OGP implementation in Nigeria.
During the press conference we highlighted the need to Redouble effort through collective action and call on government to demonstrate strong political will, strengthen coordination, create inclusive spaces for civic engagement, provide funding for OGP Implementation and urge the President to sign the NAP IV when transmitted before July, 2026.

Open Government reforms must go beyond policy declaration and translate into concrete actions that improve transparency, accountability, participatory governance and effective service delivery.

For Nigeria it was Grace, Glory and Glamour winning the 2025 Regional and Thematic Award for Advancing Inclusive and Responsible Digital Governance.

Today at the 2025 OGP Global Summit's Partnership for Democracy and Accountability (PDA) Country Stakeholder Dialogue held at Hechicera Hall, Palacio Europa, Spain, SERDEC presented its Research Report on the “Assessment of Citizens and Non-State Actors Engagement in the Implementation of Nigeria’s Open Government Partnership (NAP III)”.

The report provided key recommendations on deepening the OGP process through inclusive and participatory governance built on the political will of government and constructive civic engagement to sincerely co-create and drive reforms.

The dialogue had in attendance government officials and civil society stakeholders from PDA partner countries and the OGP Support Unit. The session provided an opportunity to reflect on our PDA programme progress, share perspectives on reform opportunities, challenges, and discuss priorities for sustaining open government reforms in Nigeria.
