The School as a Social Institution : The School as a Legal Entity

Schools are social institutions, as much as they are legal entities.

We more often celebrate schools for the values they shape and the communities they serve. While the legal identity of a school is treated as an afterthought—addressed only when a crisis arises.

Corporate Affairs Commission registration, school governance structures internal and external compliance mechanisms,employment law, child protection, data privacy, and liability etc are not just “technicalities.” They are core to a school’s credibility and sustainability.

School owners must engage with the legal framework and regulatory guidelines of their institutions as a leadership responsibility, not a reactive exercise.

Strong schools are built not just on vision and values, but on sound legal and regulatory foundations.

We appreciate the staff of the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, JAMB, who took time to educate our Ss3 learners and their parents about the upcoming exams and admission processes into Nigerian Universities. No question was too silly for them to answer 😜😊💯👌🔥❤️
