KOGI YOUTH ARISE

When Kogi State was created, only two political parties (SDP & NRC) were in existence and the Ebiras were leading those political parties. Late Abdulazeez Obinni was the State Party Chairman of NRC while Apollo was SDP state party chairman. It was agreed at late Sule Engineer's house to allowed the Igalas to rule first because the Eburas had tasted power as governor (Alhaji Adamu Attah 1979-1983) and deputy Governor ( Alhaji Usman Obatemi).

The agreement to allowed the igalas to rule made the Ebiras not to feature in the election that made late prince Abubakar Audu Governor. The two parties features only igalas; NRC picked Audu while SDP picked Stephen Acheme.

To those that jumped into politics yesterday, you need to ask questions and you need to know how kogi state was created and on whose influence it was created.

While the igalas was struggling to get Okura state Kogi was already a done deal credit to the then Chief of Staff to IBB, General Salihu and the then inspector general of police and they're all Ebira sons.

God knew what Ebira leaders did by allowing their Igala brothers to rule first in a state they created was out of sympathy and love when the Ebiras had all it takes to rule at that time. They were the ones controlling the two parties, they were at the top of the government at that time yet greed never struck their mind compared to what the entire state witnessed during Ibrahim Idris when the supreme Court ended his tenure and ordered that the speakers should take over but never allowed Abdullahi Bello to exist despite being sworn in by the state chief judge he (Ibro) organized another swearing in with the support of the then vice president (Namadi Sambo) just because Abdullahi Bello is not an Igala man.

His deputy (Phillip Salau) who worshiped him for 9years never believed he(inbro) could shun him to back another candidate. Kutepa who worn the primary was rigged out just because he wasn't an Igala.

One aspect of Governor Yahaya Bello's legacy that will linger long after his duties as the 4th Executive Governor of the state is his glaring ability to scout for credible and competent individuals for sensitive positions regardless of religion and ethnic background. In the past seven years, children of nobodies (so to speak) have risen to exalted positions in the state and the recent elevation and adoption of Hon. Joel Oyibo Salifu (JOS) is never a happenstance.
