Before replacing a transistor in an AMPLIFIER you must know the following:

*is it a PNP or NPN ?
*are the configuration the same?
* is the semiconductor material which it is made from authentic?
* what is the maximum voltage it can handle?
*how many AMPS does it deliver?
*what is the power rating ?
* What is the highest temperature it can withstand?
As an electronics engineer if you don't consider all this facts and more, your electronics experience is still at the preliminary stage...
