THE ANOINTING OF THE CHRIST IN YOU

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power… (Acts 10:38).

In Christ, we are distinguished by faith, calling, gifts, grace, and office; yet, it is the same anointing of the Holy Spirit that empowers us all. When you received the Holy Spirit, you were anointed with the anointing of the Christ. You don’t need a different anointing or a greater one; the anointing you received is the very same anointing that made Jesus the Christ. It’s the Holy Ghost Himself.

Acts 10:38 reveals that the Lord Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power. This expression doesn’t imply two separate anointings. In the language of the prophets and the apostles, two phrases may be used to describe the same reality. To be anointed with the Holy Ghost is to be anointed with power.

In Acts 1:8, the Lord Jesus said, “...ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you….” Power comes with the Spirit. When the Holy Ghost came into you, you were endued with divine ability from on high. You were consecrated and separated unto God for His purpose.

Through the Spirit, you now understand the mysteries and realities of the Kingdom. You see and understand life beyond human intellect and perspective because you possess the wisdom of the Spirit. You’re empowered to do the work of God and live the supernatural life.

The same Spirit teaches you, strengthens you, and equips you to walk in the glory and righteousness of Christ, as you fulfill your calling in Him. So, every day, walk in the consciousness of the divine presence and ability of the Spirit at work in you.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for anointing me with the Holy Spirit and with power. I walk in the consciousness of your presence and ability in me. I’m empowered to fulfil my calling and function in the fullness of your grace, producing results that bring you glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
Acts 1:8 AMPC But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

A LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT

And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45).

In 1 Corinthians 15, there's a long discussion by Paul the Apostle where he draws differences between the natural and the spiritual, the terrestrial and the celestial, the first Adam and the second Adam. He said, “...The first man Adam was made a living soul….” That’s referring to Adam in the Garden of Eden. The Bible says God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and he became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).

But the Lord Jesus, the second and last Adam, is a life giving Spirit, and you’re born after Him. Those who aren’t born again are born after the first Adam, the man of dust. They’re mere living souls, and that’s why they’re ruled by selfishness and driven by earthly desires.

But the Lord from heaven, whose icon we are and whose image we bear, is Life and the Life-giver. As He is, so are we (1 John 4:17). His very nature is to give and to dispense life. Therefore, being born after Him, you’re a life-giving spirit. You live by the law of the Spirit of life. You express His love, power and righteousness.
The Bible says, “The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven” (1 Corinthians 15:47). Then it declares further, “As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly” (1 Corinthians 15:48). This is a present reality; we’re like Him now. We’re heavenly men and women in the earth.

It helps you understand why the Lord Jesus said you’re not of this world (John 15:19). You hail from God (1 John 4:4); your origin is divine. Your words, like those of the Master, are spirit and life: “…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). You dispense the presence and life of the Holy Spirit in words full of power. You’re not an earthling but a heavenly being. Blessed be God!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for the revelation of my identity in Christ. I’m born after the last Adam, a life-giving spirit, full of grace and power. I dispense life to my world through words inspired by the Spirit. I’m conscious of my heavenly origin; therefore I manifest your righteousness, glory and love everywhere, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

𝐌𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐋!

⚫️God wants you to leave Gilgal for Bethel, but He doesn’t want you to stay in Bethel either.

⚫️You must move from Bethel!

⚫️Consider the story of Elijah and Elisha which we’re studying.

⚫️Elisha went with Elijah from Gilgal to Bethel, but he didn’t stop there.

⚫️Elijah insisted that he stopped there but Elisha didn’t.

⚫️He moved on with him to the next point.

⚫️He was, in other words, telling Elijah, “Oh no, I can’t stop at Bethel.

⚫️I can’t just make a commitment to God and stop.”

⚫️Some people are just happy to stop at Bethel.

⚫️They make a commitment to God; they make a vow and say, “My life is now for God.”

⚫️That’s where some Christians are today.

⚫️They’re very committed, but there’s a difference between faithfulness and faith.

⚫️They are faithful, they can be trusted that every time the church doors open, they’ll be there.

⚫️Whenever there’s a call for evangelism, they’ll be there.

⚫️Anything you tell them to do, they’ll do willingly.

⚫️If you tell them to go five miles, they’ll go five miles, but that’s just about how far they’ll go.

⚫️Elijah said to Elisha, “Stop at Bethel.

⚫️That’s just like some people say, “Okay, you’re now committed, what else are you looking for?”

⚫️Child of God, there’s a place beyond Bethel; there’s something more than your declaration of commitment to God; there’s a Jericho to move on to!

⚫️Abraham raised an altar and called upon the name of the Lord in Bethel, but his grandson, Jacob also journeyed to Bethel and there’s a lot we can learn from his experience there.

—⭐️📖“And Jacob went out from Beer- sheba, and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the Lord is in this place; and I knew it not. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but THE HOUSE OF GOD, and this is the gate of heaven. And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father’s house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God: And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee” (Genesis 28:12- 22).

⚫️Jacob made his commitment to God at Bethel, and said, “Lord, everything I have is yours.

⚫️You, Lord, will be My God, and of all that You give me, I will surely give the tithe of it.”

⚫️The tithe is one-tenth of what God blesses you with.

⚫️Jacob made a commitment to Jehovah at Bethel to give Him the tithe always.

⚫️Have you come to that point in your life where you know what it is to make a commitment to God?

⚫️Have you made a vow to God about your life?

⚫️Let me tell you something: God deals with vows; they are sacred things to Him.

⚫️That’s why it’s important that you learn to strike a deal with God through your vows.

⚫️Sometimes you may find yourself in a predicament in your life, or things are not just going right for you.

⚫️That’s the best time to strike a deal with God and make a vow!

⚫️That way, you’re challenging God to move in a certain direction for your good and you too will move in a certain direction.

⚫️God can always be trusted to keep His part of the vow, but He’ll watch out for you to fulfill yours.

⚫️Jacob made a vow at Bethel.

⚫️He said to God, “If You would keep me in this way that I go, and give me bread to eat, and clothes to put on, and cause me to return to my father’s house again in peace, then You shall be my God, and this stone that I have used as a pillow shall be an altar set up unto God.”

𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐋: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐫

—-⭐️📖“And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him. And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called upon the name of the Lord” (Genesis 12:7- 😎.

⚫️Bethel is a special place.

⚫️There was where Abram pitched his tent and built an altar unto the Lord.

⚫️Chapter thirteen of the same book, from verse one, reads thus:

—-⭐️📖“And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning (we read that in Genesis 12:8), between Bethel and Hai; Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.” (Genesis 13:1-4).

⚫️This lets us know Bethel is the place of the altar.

⚫️It’s the place of commitment; the place of the vow.

⚫️Bethel is that place where you get to and say, “Lord, all I have is yours.”

⚫️It’s the place where you erect an altar before the Lord.

⚫️That altar in itself signifies surrender.

⚫️So Bethel is also the place of surrender.

⚫️Have you come to Bethel in your Christian walk?

✅Hallelujah!!!!

IT’S GOING TO BE BY FAITH

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed (1 Corinthians 15:51).

Contrary to religious assumptions, the Bible doesn’t say everybody is going to die. Ponder again our opening verse of scripture: The Spirit, through the Apostle Paul, unveils a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

In other words, there’s a generation of the Church that’ll see the Rapture without experiencing death, and that’s our generation because we believe and walk in this revelation. Our faith is incontrovertible. That translation that we're going to have, which is called the Rapture of the church, is going to be an expression of our faith. It’s not going to happen with unbelief.

God gave us Enoch in the Old Testament as an example. The Bible says, "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death..." (Hebrews 11:5). He was raptured by faith. But before his translation, he had the testimony that he pleased God, and the Bible says without faith it’s impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6).

Enoch walked with God by faith, and one day, "...he was not; for God took him" (Genesis 5:24). In the same way, the Church will be translated from this earth by faith very soon. The Lord is coming for a people who are in faith, ready and expectant, living in the consciousness of His soon return.

Expectation is faith in demonstration. Like the man at the gate called Beautiful, who looked at Peter and John, expecting to receive something, our gaze is on the Lord, expecting His appearing. Remember what the Word says, “…unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation” (Hebrews 9:28).

Hence, if anyone criticises your strong message of faith, remind them of Enoch, a man whose faith was such that he left this world without experiencing death. You belong to that same lineage of faith. You’re being built by the Word for that glorious moment.
Therefore, keep your heart set on Him. Live every day with the consciousness that you’re in the generation privileged to bring the message of the Gospel to its fullness and to anticipate and experience the Rapture of the Church. Glory to God!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

I live in joyful expectation of the coming of the Lord, walking in faith and pleasing Him in all things. My life is ordered by God’s Word; I am steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of God. I walk in righteousness and in the light of God’s Word, looking forward to the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

THE ESSENCE OF DIVINE LOVE

..he that hath seen me hath seen the Father… (John 14:9).

People have used the word “love” for generations without capturing or understanding the true essence of its meaning. Even the Greek word “agape,” which is one of the translations of the word love, was known before Christ came. Yet, human definitions never captured the essence of divine love.

The Lord Jesus gave meaning to love. When you saw Him, you saw Love in action. He’s the manifestation of God’s love. The Bible says, “...God is love” (1 John 4:8). Love was tabernacled in human flesh in Jesus Christ. When He preached in the temple, as Luke 4:16-21 tells us, it was God’s love in action.

He read from the scroll of Isaiah and declared, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears,” revealing His mission to bring salvation, healing, and love into the world. Then He acted it. He healed the sick, opened blind eyes, fed the multitude, and raised the dead. That was God’s love in display.

Matthew 14:14 says, “And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.” His compassion drove Him to heal the sick, showing that love and mercy were at the very heart of His ministry.

Even when He drove out the money changers from the temple (read John 2:13-17), that act wasn’t anger but righteous love. His zeal was rooted in love for His Father’s house. When He rebuked Herod as a fox in Luke 13:32, it was a bold expression of truth and love. He was calling out wickedness with righteous authority.

Finally, His lamentation over Jerusalem in Matthew 23:37 shows His deep love and longing for the salvation of His people, “O Jerusalem... how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!” These acts and words reveal that the life of the Master was a perfect manifestation of divine love.

Love is not defined by human sentiment, emotion, weakness, or permissiveness. Love is the person of Jesus Christ revealed to us. He was fully God and fully man. The more you know Him through the Word and by the Spirit, the clearer your understanding of love. And as you walk in His nature, you become the manifestation of God’s love to your world.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for sending Jesus as the full expression of your unfailing love. His life in me is the life of love. I walk in the light of His Word and express His character; through me, many experience your love, compassion, grace, and transforming power, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

BACKED BY HEAVEN’S ECONOMY

For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it (Ecclesiastes 7:12).

God has given us both wisdom and finances for the fulfilment of His vision. The Gospel is too important and too urgent to be limited by financial constraints. A life transforming message requires resources for its spread, and God has made the resources available to His children by His Spirit. He has supplied us abundantly with what we need to fulfil His purpose.

This is why you must have the right mentality about money. Never be intimidated by figures. Many become anxious, calculating and worrying about where the supply will come from. That’s not the mindset of faith. Children never worry about money; rather, they’re provision conscious. They live with a consciousness that everything needed is available.

The Lord Jesus said we must receive the Kingdom as little children. This includes the way we think about resources. Think abundance; think supply; think possibility. Think like one with an unlimited source. Whenever thoughts of lack attempt to rise in your mind, refuse them vehemently. Simply switch your mind to the truth that you’re backed by Heaven’s economy.
Christ gave you access to God’s inexhaustible supply. In Him, all things are yours. His blessing is your advantage. Your job or business is not your source but your platform to express your God-given gift and bless your world, a channel, not the origin of your resources.
Those who look to their careers as their source become bound by the world’s economic cycles, job transitions, and human evaluations. But your value and success are not tied to this earthly realm or any earthly system. You function from a higher Kingdom, under a higher economy, the economy of heaven, which operates by faith.
The way of faith is to believe and act on what the Lord Jesus has already accomplished. That’s the way to live above the thraldom of economic meltdowns and financial fears, whilst floating in the grace of abundance. Have this mindset. It’s the reality of those in Christ.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for making all grace abound toward me. I refuse to fear or worry about resources. I think abundance because I have access to your inexhaustible supply. I use money for your purpose and live as a distributor of blessings, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

ALWAYS FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

It’s God’s desire that you live continually filled with the Spirit, and the Bible tell us how in the ensuing verses 19 to 21 of our opening scripture: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”

How profound that He’d list for us what we’re to do in getting ourselves perpetually filled with the Spirit! It’s up to you to put this to practise every day in your personal life. It’ll keep you above agitation, fear and worry. Those who aren’t often filled with the Spirit are easily troubled and uneasy, looking for someone to blame or somewhere to vent their frustrations.

But when you live full of the Spirit, you remain joyful, peaceful and at rest. You don’t struggle; your faith prevails. You function from a place of divine supply, strength and wisdom.

Every day, stay continually stirred, stimulated and spiritually minded. It’s your responsibility to remain in that atmosphere. There, everything is permanent, unshaken, and eternal. From that realm, you govern circumstances and rule over life’s situations. You’re constantly aglow and afire by the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of being continually filled with the Spirit. I maintain the glow of the Spirit in my life as I walk in the consciousness of your righteousness, glory, beauty, excellence and eternal life within me. I live from the realm of the Spirit and dominate my world with your power and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄

⚫️You‟ve got to make a quality decision to walk in love and in order to walk in love towards others; you‟ve got to love yourself first.

⚫️You cannot make anyone else happy if you are not happy.

⚫️If you make yourself happy, you will make other people happy.

⚫️But, if something makes you happy and gets others sad, you need to watch it.

⚫️If someone wrongs you, don‟t hold it against him, otherwise you will soon be walking out of love and hence break your fellowship with God.

⚫️God is not going to hold the person who wronged you responsible, because God deals with you to the exclusion of everybody else.

⚫️In other words, you don‟t come to God and question Him or complain to Him about others. I will give you a good example: after Jesus had been raised from the dead, and His disciples had gone back to fishing, He appeared unto them (John 21).

⚫️After He had made a meal for them, He turned round and spoke to Peter, asking him if he loved him more than “these.” Three times He asked Peter this question.

⚫️Finally Jesus told him what kind of death with which he would glorify God.

⚫️But John had been following all this while, and Jesus had not said anything about him.

⚫️So Peter asked, “what about this man? What will this man do.” Read the answer for yourself in John 21: 22.

⚫️Jesus did not tell Peter what would happen to John.

⚫️ In fact what He said was the same as telling Peter, “It‟s none of your business.” He deals with you as you, so leave others alone.

If someone annoys you, leave him alone. You settle your heart with God.

⚫️Jesus - An Example

—⭐️Hebrews 12:2-6: “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.”

⚫️Jesus endured such contradiction against Himself when He was on the Cross; the people for whom He was dying spat at Him yet He endured it.

—⭐️I Peter 2:21-23: “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffiered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffiered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously.”

⚫️Jesus has given us an example to follow therefore make Him your choice and follow Him.

⚫️Two wrongs can never make a right so you don‟t have to react negatively when someone commits an offence against you.

⚫️You will be wrong to do so because then you will be walking in darkness.

⚫️This is the reason some Christians don‟t experience answers to prayers.

⚫️Though their prayers have already been answered long ago, their faith cannot release the answer, because they are not walking in love.

⚫️Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), but this faith can only work by love.

⚫️There are different kinds of faith; the one in the New Testament is that which works by love.

—⭐️Galatians 5:6:“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.”

⚫️In Christ Jesus the only faith that is acceptable is that which works by love.

⚫️If without faith it is impossible to please God, it means you can not please Him without love, since your faith needs to be operated by love.

⚫️If your faith is not mixed with love, it becomes unacceptable in Christ Jesus because you cannot be pleasing to God without love.

⚫️Have you ever heard a Christian say, “I know myself, I am not patient.” It really is a shame when Christians pride themselves in the wrong things.

⚫️It means they are still in darkness, and are as bad as the guy that says, “It is so easy for me to take 24 bottles of beer.”

⚫️Yes, this guy is boasting in something wrong, and should be ashamed of himself.

⚫️But there is no difference between him and a Christian who says, “I know myself, I know that I cannot endure for long, I am not patient.”

⚫️When you say things like this, you reject the Holy Spirit.

🔴 You may be talking in tongues and demonstrating great works of faith, but you are still a babe, because the real measure of your faith is love.
