About Arewa Education Trust Fund (AETF)

The Arewa Education Trust Fund (AETF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the educational landscape of Northern Nigeria. Rooted in the belief that education is the foundation for sustainable development, peace, and social equity, AETF is committed to ensuring that every child—regardless of background or circumstance—has access to quality and inclusive education.
AETF was established in response to the pressing challenges facing education in the region, including high rates of out-of-school children, inadequate learning infrastructure, and limited access to educational resources in rural and underserved communities. We recognize that without urgent and coordinated efforts, generations of young people risk being left behind.
Our mission is to bridge these gaps by working collaboratively with government institutions, communities, development partners, and the private sector to deliver sustainable educational interventions. From offering scholarships and learning materials, to building and renovating schools, training teachers, and running advocacy campaigns, AETF is actively driving change across multiple fronts of the education sector.
We believe that education is not just a human right, but a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, promoting equality, and building resilient communities. Through our programs, we aim to nurture informed, empowered, and productive citizens who will contribute meaningfully to the development of Northern Nigeria and the nation at large.
