Dr. Angela Adamu met with the dynamic Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago to discuss the importance of teacher capacity development as a vital factor in improving the quality of education in Nigeria. Both the Governor and Dr. Adamu acknowledged that while education infrastructure is important, that alone will not transform the education sector.

What is required is commitment to ensuring that teacher education curriculum is upgraded to reflect the realities of the 21st century educational and technological landscape. And without doubt, investment in the continuous professional development of teachers must be a prerequisite in maintaining standards and ensuring that educators remain abreast of current and evolving pedagogical knowledge, skills, and trends.
