Dear Royal Parents!😊
Welcome to May , the month of RESPONSIBILITY!☺
As we journey through the month of May, we're excited to explore the theme of "Responsibility".
This month, we'll be focusing on the importance of taking ownership of our actions, decisions, and well-being.
Expectations for Parents and Children
✅ Model responsible behavior: As role models, we encourage you to demonstrate responsible behavior, such as punctuality, respect, and accountability.
✅ Encourage self-reflection: We'll be encouraging children to reflect on their actions and decisions, helping them develop self-awareness and a sense of responsibility.
✅ *Practice accountability*: Children will learn to take ownership of their mistakes and apologize when necessary, promoting accountability and empathy.
Did you know that the concept of responsibility is closely tied to the idea of "response-ability"?
This means that we have the ability to respond to situations in a thoughtful and intentional way.
One inspiring story that illustrates the importance of responsibility is that of Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. Despite facing numerous challenges and threats, Malala took responsibility for her education and advocated for girls' rights, inspiring millions around the world.
♻️💪 Let's work together
throughout May, we'll be engaging in various activities and discussions that promote responsibility, self-awareness, and accountability.
We encourage you to reinforce these values at home and engage in conversations with your child(ren) about the importance of taking responsibility.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We're excited to explore this theme together and watch our children grow into responsible and compassionate individuals.
Again, Happy New Month!

When an individual consults a medical doctor, the physician conducts a diagnosis of the ailment and prescribes the appropriate medication.
However, we often take it upon ourselves to diagnose and prescribe treatments, not only for ourselves but also for our children.
Unfortunately, we frequently focus on treating symptoms rather than addressing the root causes of the problems. This lack of professional diagnosis can lead to varying results; at times, we may see improvements, while on other occasions, we do not.
Sadly, many parents, caregivers, and educators apply this same approach to every challenge a child faces. Children may exhibit a range of emotions such as sadness, excessive anger, withdrawal, fear, overwhelm, restlessness, distraction, tiredness, nervousness, grumpiness, or excessive worry. Additionally, they may probably express physical symptoms that include fidgeting, weakness in the legs, loss of appetite, a racing heart, gastrointestinal discomfort, trouble sleeping, dry mouth, and excessive sweating, etc. some of us would immediately prescribe paracetamol and malaria medications…😢
Anyways, not all children will experience the same symptoms, and some may exhibit different signs altogether since everyone is unique.
As a parent or caregiver, it is your responsibility to seek assistance for your child. We have already provided some suggestions in our slide. Here are additional strategies to help your child:
1. Shift the focus from the situation to something more positive.
2. Encourage healthy habits.
3. Seek professional help when anxiety begins to disrupt your child’s daily life.
It is important to keep in mind that some of these challenges are often temporary. With adequate attention, care, and appropriate support, anxiety can be effectively managed.

Is your Child experiencing anxiety?
Read with me below a brief story on this.
As the school bus pulled up, 8-year-old Jane's eyes widened with fear. She clutched her mother's hand, refusing to let go. "I don't want to go, Mommy! What if I get lost or forget my lunch?"
Her mother, recognizing the anxiety, knelt down and hugged Jane. "You're safe, sweetie. You've ridden this bus many times. What can we do to make you feel better?" Jane thought for a moment before suggesting she draw a picture to distract herself during the ride.
As Jane boarded the bus, her mother reminded her, "You're brave and capable. Take deep breaths and remember, it's okay to feel scared sometimes."
Take home: Anxiety in children can be overwhelming, but acknowledging their fears and teaching coping mechanisms can empower them to manage their anxiety and build resilience.
There you have it!🤩
When next your child experiences anxiety, you now know what to do now.

As a school administrator, I have witnessed many children and even teachers struggle with self-discipline. One instance, however, stood out for me.
When we employed Mrs. Josephine, her warm smile and gentle demeanor was so enticing that we were almost too sure she would be loved by every child but her credentials revealed that she had not been through some relevant teacher's trainings and had little years of experience. This fact initially caused me to question her classroom management abilities. Yet, my doubts were swiftly dispelled as I observed her in action.
One of her students, Abu, faced significant challenges with self-discipline. All previous teachers that had taught Ade had nothing positive to report but complaints daily.
During one of our weekly student-reviews, Mrs. Josephine disclosed that she saw beyond Abu's struggles to the potential hidden within him and she was determined to help Abu to improve. Though Abu was bright, he was easily distracted, frequently forgetting homework, interrupting lessons, etc. His parents shared their frustration, and his confidence was waning.
Mrs. Josephine introduced a daily consistency plan for Abu, providing him with a "Daily Success Chart" which was a simple checklist of small tasks like arriving on time, completing assignments, and maintaining focus. Each day he succeeded, he earned a small reward, a sticker, or a heartfelt "I'm proud of you."
Though he resisted at first, Abu began to flourish with Mrs. Josephine's unwavering support. Within three months, his grades improved, his focus sharpened, and he even started helping his classmates stay on task. The most beautiful reward was watching Abu radiate confidence, knowing he was mastering his actions.
Mrs. Josephine didn’t merely teach Abu the curriculum; she taught him the invaluable skill of self-discipline, a lesson that will shape his future. She dispelled any doubts about her abilities and imparted profound lessons to me as well. I also observed that her other students were more composed and performed very well in their grades.
Did she encounter challenges? Yes. Yet her dedication never wavered. I can confidently entrust any child to Mrs. Josephine's care, knowing that she inspires change and potential in every student she encounters.
Your child can achieve self-discipline too if you choose intentionality, guiding them to be consistent with every day habits that encourages discipline.
Those little drops of water can make up a river eventually.

Dear Royal Parents,
Did you know that letter writing isn't just about communication? It's a powerful self-care tool for families!
Taking the time to write letters to each other individually or doing it together can:
1️⃣ Strengthen emotional bonds between family members.
2️⃣ Boost creativity and self-expression in children.
3️⃣ Improve literacy skills and handwriting practice.
4️⃣ Provide a therapeutic outlet for thoughts and feelings.
Research shows that engaging in such activities promotes emotional well-being and can deepen family connections.
I remember the first day my daughter annoyed me, I was not having plans of listening to her explanations any time soon but she made me to.
As I sat in my room, I saw a note slipped under my door.
She found a way to communicate to me that day and it made a lot of difference.
She discovered a unique way of communicating some things she doesn’t feel like verbally expressing and she uses it to her advantage.
Read more from our slides.
We are fine when our children are fine.
Let's start writing at home and create meaningful moments that last a lifetime!
Share your letter 📨writing journey with us below if you have been using this tool.
