Fun and Educating Activities for English Learning on the Assembly Ground.
PART 2
🎯 Activity: Spelling Bee Moments
Everyone loves a bit of competition — and a Spelling Bee brings excitement, confidence, and English learning together in one fun activity! 🎉
The assembly ground is a perfect place to hold short spelling rounds that get learners listening carefully, thinking fast, and pronouncing words correctly.
Here’s how to organize it 👇
1️⃣ Choose 3–5 learners from different classes to take part each morning (or once a week).
2️⃣ Call out a word clearly, one at a time.
The learner repeats the word, spells it aloud, and then says it again to confirm.
👉 Example:
Teacher: “Your word is beautiful.”
Learner: “Beautiful. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. Beautiful.” ✅
3️⃣ Clap for every participant!
Whether they get it right or not, keep the environment encouraging and fun.
4️⃣ Give brief corrections or meanings when needed.
This helps all the other learners listening to also learn new words.
5️⃣ Add variety!
Some days can be themed:
✨ Fruits Day (apple, banana, pineapple)
✨ Action Words Day (run, jump, dance)
✨ Adjectives Day (brave, tall, honest)
💡 Tip:
Keep it short — 3 to 5 words each time is enough. You can award small prizes or class points weekly to keep motivation high! 🏆
The Spelling Bee Moments activity improves:
✅ Listening and concentration skills
✅ Spelling accuracy
✅ Pronunciation and confidence
It’s a fun and powerful way to build a school-wide love for words! 💪

🌞 Fun & Educating Activities for English Learning on the Assembly Ground! 🎤📚
PART 1
👉 Who says English can only be learnt in the classroom? The assembly ground is a great place to make learning fun, memorable, fast, and interactive! 🎉
🧠 Word of the Day Challenge📝
➡️This is one of the simplest and most effective ways to help learners grow their vocabulary.
Introduce a new word written boldly on a chart to the entire school. Say it clearly and let the learners repeat after you.
You can give them some synonyms of the word.
➡️Next, spell the word together — slowly at first, then faster to make it fun.
After spelling, give its meaning and ask 2 or 3 learners to use it in a short sentence.
👉 Example:
📍 WORD: Brave
📍 MEANING: Showing courage or not afraid to face danger.
📍 SENTENCE: The fireman was brave when he saved the child.
📝This simple activity boosts spelling, pronunciation, and sentence building skills—all while making morning assembly more lively! 🎉
You're not just teaching a child or a class but the entire school at a time, including the teachers.

English tip: in the hospital Vs at the hospital 🏥
📝 In the hospital refers to being admitted as a patient, admitted for treatment or care.
✏️ It emphasizes inside the hospital building for medical care.
📍 Examples:
👉My uncle is in the hospital recovering from surgery.
👉She was in the hospital for two weeks after the accident.
📝 At the hospital refers to being present at the hospital location, not necessarily as a patient.
✏️ You could be working there, visiting someone, or just physically present outside/inside the hospital building.
📍 Examples:
👉I’m at the hospital to see my friend. (visitor)
👉She works at the hospital as a nurse. (employee)
👉There’s a health seminar at the hospital today. (event happening there)
🔴 Quick tip to remember:
➡️ In the hospital = as a patient 🛌
➡️ At the hospital = at the location (for any reason) 🏥
