THE UNTOLD SIDE EFFECT OF YAHOO CULTURE

There’s a side of Yahoo (internet fraud) that we’re not talking about enough. It’s not just about how it messes up the life of the person doing it, it’s how it’s silently damaging the mindset of a whole generation.

Let’s be honest: many ladies now believe that if a guy isn’t financially “up there,” then he’s not ready for love. Why? Because the Yahoo lifestyle has painted a false picture of what a “real man” should be. It's no longer about character or vision, it’s about who’s spending the most.

And the cost of living? Yes, inflation is real, but let’s not pretend like the reckless spending of Yahoo boys hasn’t made things worse. When you throw around money like it’s nothing, prices of basic things go up. Sellers adjust to the madness, and the rest of us pay the price.

What’s even more dangerous is the pressure it’s putting on young people. Everyone wants to blow. Nobody wants to grow. Process has become a dirty word. We’re raising a generation that wants results without responsibility, luxury without labor.

But this doesn’t have to be our story.

There are real, honest ways to make money, and build something meaningful. Skills like forex trading, tech skills (like coding, design, video editing, data analysis), digital marketing, affiliate marketing, freelancing, and other online opportunities are giving people a chance to rise, the right way.

Let’s start showing our young people that it’s possible to win without losing your soul. Let’s build a culture of value, not vanity. Let’s celebrate growth, not greed.

Because at the end of the day, fast money fades… but real value lasts.

Dear Fresh Graduate

It's indeed freedom, you survived all, congratulations!

Congratulations! You're done with school, and that’s a big win. But as the academic stress ends, a new reality begins one where freedom must be managed with intention, not just excitement. The truth? Nigeria is hard right now. Civil servants are struggling, and even with a degree, nothing is guaranteed. Out here, you don’t wait for space, you create it.

This is the time to sit down and draft a 2- 5 year life plan. What next, MSc, business, internship, skill acquisition? Don’t drift. Take a direction. Learn a skill that can generate income, digital, vocational, or trade-based. The world is looking for value, not just certificates.

Thinking about marriage? Be wise. Love alone doesn’t carry the weight of rent, food, and life’s demands. Build yourself first. Go with Someone ready to walk the tough road of responsibility with you, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.

And please, don’t rest too long. Rest can quickly become delayed. Start small, start now. Life won’t wait. Save, plan, serve, build. No one is coming to rescue you, but God will strengthen you if you start moving.

And don’t forget you need God, but you also need men. Take both seriously. Even God expects you to have the right people around you for His lifting to manifest easily. Life becomes easier when you have men rightly positioned for you at every level mentors, friends, destiny helpers. Put God first, but don’t neglect strategic relationships. Grace flows faster where men are placed rightly.

Finally, remember: You’re not too young to rise. You’re not too broke to begin. Stay prayerful, live purposefully, and face life with vision. Out here is tough, yes, but greatness is still possible if you’re intentional.

What’s the Reward for Being a Graduate in Nigeria Today?

In a country where students applying to tertiary institutions already know what the future holds poor salary structure, unemployment, and a broken system what should truly motivate them?

Passion? Will they eat passion?

They’ve come to understand that it’s beyond passion now. The system is rigged. You either fight your way through or find another way in.

Over 1.5 million students scored below 200 in JAMB. That’s not just a statistic; it’s an insult to a nation that should be producing world-class thinkers and innovators.

Let’s ask ourselves:
How many undergraduates today are confident that their first salary can give them a comfortable life?

It wasn’t always like this. There was a time when being a graduate came with pride, with hope, and a future. Now? It feels like the certificate is more for display than for destiny.

The truth is this:
The economic hardship in Nigeria has forced students to discover entrepreneurship and alternative income early even before graduation.

So again, what’s the reward for being a graduate?
A certificate that can’t buy your dreams?

If the system doesn’t change, we will soon see a decline in university applicants, not because students are lazy, but because they are tired of chasing illusions.

WAEC and JAMB can be fair. But if the government doesn’t start valuing graduates and civil servants, many will rather learn digital skills, trade, or hustle online than fight for a seat in outdated lecture halls.

The real wake-up call?
There are now online courses and trainings far more valuable than what some outdated Nigerian university courses offer.

Until Nigeria prioritizes her youth and redefines the meaning of education, the future of tertiary education will continue to lose its spark.

"Being a Student is Not an Excuse to Be Broke."

Most students believe they’ll start making money after graduation. That’s false.
Your campus years are your training ground for financial freedom.

Here’s the truth:
You have time. You have a phone. You have access to the internet.
What you lack in money, you can make up for in knowledge and action.

Instead of just scrolling, start learning income-generating skills like:

Digital skills – forex trading, crypto, data analysis, freelancing, etc.

Vocational skills – baking, skincare production, food packaging, etc.

And most importantly, learn about money – because no school or institution will teach you how to earn it, grow it, or manage it.

Your school certificate is great, but your skillset and money mindset will feed you.

Start building your financial future now. Not after NYSC. Not after a job. Now.

"You're Preparing for JAMB... But Are You Preparing for Life?"

Books will get you into school,
But financial wisdom will keep you stable in and after school.

Imagine entering university already earning in dollars from your phone.
Imagine handling school needs without constantly calling home.

Many students pass JAMB, but still fail financially in school not because they’re not smart, but because they were never taught money skills.

Learn to save.
Learn to earn online.
Learn to invest small, grow big.
Learn a skill that pays.

At Chartaalyst Network, we believe financial education must start now, not later.
You don’t wait to graduate before thinking like someone who owns the future.

You’re not too young to win financially.
Take responsibility now your future self will thank you.

What many students come to realize, often too late, is that the challenge is not just about graduating or even securing a job. The deeper issue is that the opportunities available both in government and the private sector across many African countries are not sufficient to carry the growing number of graduates entering the system each year.

Every year, thousands leave school with hope, certificates in hand, and expectations shaped by years of academic effort. Yet the reality they meet is different. The number of available jobs cannot accommodate them all, and even for those who manage to secure employment, the income is often not enough to sustain the kind of life they envisioned. The idea of building a comfortable home, supporting a family, and achieving financial stability begins to feel distant.

At that point, a difficult truth becomes clear: school alone was never enough to guarantee that outcome.
This is not to dismiss the value of education, but to recognize its limits. The system equips students with knowledge within a defined structure, but it rarely prepares them for the complexities of life outside it. It does not fully address how to navigate uncertainty, how to create opportunities where none seem to exist, or how to build a life beyond dependence on limited systems.

And yet, when one observes individuals who are doing well those who seem to move with clarity, build stability, and create opportunities for themselves there is a noticeable difference. Their lives are not shaped by their certificates alone, but by what they have come to understand beyond the classroom. They have learned how to position themselves, how to recognize and create value, how to build relationships that matter, and how to think independently in a constantly changing environment.

This difference is not accidental. It is the result of exposure of access to knowledge, perspectives, and guidance that go beyond formal education.
It is within this gap that Campus Edge Africa finds its relevance.

Not as a replacement for school, but as a response to what school leaves out. A space where students are exposed early to the realities they will eventually face. Where conversations go beyond theory into practical understanding how money works, how influence is built, how opportunities are created, and how to navigate life with intention.

It brings students closer to people who have walked the path, not just those who teach it. It creates an environment where thinking is sharpened, direction becomes clearer, and confidence is built not on assumptions, but on real understanding.

In a system where opportunities are limited, survival and success can no longer depend on qualifications alone. They require awareness, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of how the real world operates. Without these, many graduates are left trying to fit into spaces that cannot contain them.
But for those who encounter the right kind of insight early enough, the story begins to change. They do not wait passively for opportunities that may never come. Instead, they begin to think differently, act intentionally, and position themselves in ways that create possibilities.

In the end, the true advantage is not just in finishing school, but in being prepared for life beyond it. Not just having a certificate, but having the clarity and capability to build a future even in a system that offers no guarantees.

And sometimes, that difference begins with being in the right environment at the right time.

CampusEdge Africa brings that environment.

An environment where students are not left to figure things out alone, but are guided, challenged, and exposed to a different way of thinking. An environment where access meets insight where learning is not just about information, but about transformation with real-life results.

Students begin to understand how money works beyond theory, how to build meaningful relationships that open doors, how influence and decisions actually function in real life, and how to position themselves for opportunities instead of waiting for them.

Jack Ma the richest man in China said, "If you put the Banana and Money infront of a monkey. The monkey will choose Banana because the monkey don't know that money can buy alot of Bananas."

In fact, if you offer WORK and BUSINESS to people, they will choose to WORK because most people don't know that a BUSINESS can make more money than salary.

One of the reason the poor are poor is because the poor are not trained to recognise the entrepreneurial opportunity.

They spend alot of time in school and what they learn in school is work for a salary instead of working for themselves.

Profit is better than wages because wages can support you, but profits can make you a fortune.

We commend this new development of one Student and two skills as this will help promote productivity and make youths not wholly dependent on the federal government for everything.

Students are to be solutions providers, they are to become innovative and creative and this approach will help build them into a transformative contributor to the development of our dear nation Nigeria.

Chartaalyst is in full support of this initiative and we also are committed to training youths with the necessary entrepreneurial skills equipping them as contributors to national progress.

We appreciate HE Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this initiative.

ACQUIRE SKILLS TO TACKLE UNEMPLOYMENT, NASARAWA VARSITY'S VC URGES YOUTHS

The Vice Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan-Liman, has called on youths across the country to consider acquiring relevant skills to tackle the prevailing issues of unemployment.
The VC made the call in Keffi Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, during the Exhibition of Students Products, organised by the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies in the institution.

Hassan-Liman further called on political leaders in the country to support the youths by regularly organising skill acquisition programmes that would help them become self-reliant and financially independent for them to also contribute meaningfully to the growth of the society. The Vice-Chancellor, therefore commended the lecturers and staff of the entrepreneurship department in the university for their efforts towards grooming the students to become employers of labour shortly.

She added, “The problem nowadays is that many students are without skills, and after graduation, they will begin to go all around the streets looking for white-collar jobs. They must learn skills so that when they graduate, they will be able to open up their own businesses and become employers of labour.”“The skills that you all have learnt should be practised to the extent that you will become employers of labour. I can assure you that with the skills you have acquired, you are already on the way to taking Nigeria to greater heights”.
