No matter the lesson on prayer...Not until prayer is prayed, the prayer lesson is of no use at all!

Our study this weekend was fun! Read through it and join us to do the assignment.

TOPIC: PRAYER
TEXT: LUKE: 18:1

INTRODUCTION
- Every good father wants to be having discussion with his children - God our father, always wants to be having discussion with us.
- A good father wants to know how his children feels about their situations and live - God always wants to know and hear from us how we feel about issues that burdens us.
- A good father also wants to hear his children asked him questions about things that they need understanding - God wants us to ask him question and he is ready to give us answer to those questions.
- Every good father wants his children to ask him for their needs rather than going out to beg other people - God always wants us to ask him for our needs and he is always ready to provide for us.
- Every good father wants to instruct, guide and teach his children - God want to instruct, guide and teach us as his children so that we don't make mistake in our lives.
- God is always ready to listen to our questions and wants to reply and answer oir questions at all time.

Note:
This kind of father-son relationship can only be effective when you are saved. Are you saved?

WHAT IS PRAYER?

Prayer simply means talking with God
It also means communicating with God
Better put, it is talking to God and hearing God's reply back to you.

Summary
When I speak, God hears me and when God reply me and will also I hear and understand him.

TYPES OF PRAYER
Text: Matthew 6:9-13

We are grouping the types of prayer into these major categories;

1. Thanksgiving - Mat. 6:9, Ps. 100:4
This is when you are thanking God for what he has done or about to do for you or for other people.

2. Praise and Worship - Mat. 6:9, Ps. 103;1
This is when you are praising and worshiping God for who he is.

3. Confession - Mat. 6:12, Is. 1:18, Lev. 17:11
This is when you are asking God for your forgiveness of sins

4. Petition - Mat. 6:11
This is when you are asking God for your daily needs

5. Supplication - Mat. 6:11
This is when you are asking God for the need of other believers

6. Intercession - Mat. 6:12, Lk. 23:34
This is when you are asking God for the salvation of others.

While supplication is targeted towards the saints (believers), intercession is targeted more on the unsaved or a backsliding ones.
