Nigeria at 65. A Call to Nation Builders

I believe in Nigeria. I love Nigeria. Ours is a nation richly blessed. Though we may be passing through economic hardship, I am confident that one day, by the grace of God, we shall rise, and His purpose for us will be fulfilled.

The journey to that brighter day requires commitment from all of us. If we desire change, we must begin with the way we raise and educate our children. We must instill values of honesty, discipline, service, and love for country in every young Nigerian.

Every parent and educator is a nation-builder. Before you take any action that affects this land, pause and ask yourself: What legacy am I leaving for my children and grandchildren? We have no other country but Nigeria. It is our duty to protect it, nurture it, and pass it on stronger to the next generation.

Let us rise with renewed hope and commitment, for together, we can build the Nigeria of our dreams.

I have woven my values deeply into the heartbeat of our school community. One of my greatest joys is witnessing teachers and students rise to the level God has destined for them. it’s a fulfillment that words can hardly capture.

For me, excellence and intentionality are more than favorite words; they are guiding principles I live by and consistently instill in my students and teachers. Every single day, without fail, I speak these values over them. Sometimes it may seem as though they are not listening, but in truth, I see the results unfolding in real time.

I see it in the way our school is rated.
I see it in the way our students carry themselves, interact with others, and make decisions. I see it in how they insist new students who join us live these values.

One of my proudest moments was hearing from some of the parents of our graduating JSS 3 students, who shared how their children were clear and intentional about what they wanted in the schools they chose for SS 1. Some even turned down admissions because they noticed things that didn’t align with the standards they had been taught. Together with their parents, I guided them through the process until they found schools that matched their values.

These experiences remind me daily that when you sow seeds of values, you always reap a harvest. For this, I remain deeply grateful.
