12/12/2025
*PETITION TO THE ABUA‑ODUAL FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (ABOLGA FA) AND T&J DYNASTY FOOTBALL ORGANISING COMMITTEE*
*FROM:*
The Players, Officials and Supporters of *Nuabos Legacy FC*
Representing the National Union of Abua/Odual Students (NUABOS) Worldwide
*DATE:* 12 December 2025
*SUBJECT:* Demand for the Immediate Reinstatement of the Scheduled Quarter‑Final Match Against Agada 1 FC (to be played on 13 December 2025)
1. INTRODUCTION
We, the undersigned members of Nuabos Legacy FC, a bona‑fide student‑athlete team affiliated with NUABOS Worldwide, hereby submit this formal petition to request that the football match originally scheduled for *tomorrow, 13 December 2025*, be played as originally planned. The abrupt postponement, communicated only a few hours before kick‑off, has caused undue hardship, financial loss, and academic disruption to all participants.
2. FACTUAL BACKGROUND
Item Detail
Fixture Quarter‑final of the T&J Dynasty Football Competition
Date & Time 13 December 2025 (tomorrow)
Venue Abua/Odual Stadium
Opposing Team Agada 1 FC (distinct from Agada 1 United, which is participating in the Chairman’s Cup)
Travel Arrangements 25 players + 2 officials travelled from our home campus to Abua/Odual today, incurring a transportation cost of ₦2,000 per person
Academic Impact All participants missed scheduled lectures, laboratory sessions and defence duties
Notice of Postponement Received less than three hours prior to the scheduled start time, with no written communication from the organising bodies
Proposed New Date Monday, 15 December 2025 – a day on which classes have resumed, rendering fielding a full team impossible
3. LEGITIMATE CONCERNS
1. *Unilateral Decision‑Making* – The decision to postpone was taken without consultation with the affected team, contravening the principles of fairness and natural justice enshrined in the ABOLGA FA statutes.
2. *Financial Burden* – Each player and official has already expended ₦2,000 on transport, a sum that cannot be recovered given the short notice.
3. *Academic Disruption* – As full‑time students, the players are obligated to attend lectures and examinations. The proposed new date clashes directly with academic commitments, jeopardising their progress.
4. *Distinction of Opponents* – It is evident that *Agada 1 FC* (our scheduled opponent) and *Agada 1 United* (participating in the Chairman’s Cup) are separate legal entities. The postponement therefore cannot be justified on the basis of a conflict of fixtures.
4. DEMAND
In light of the foregoing, we respectfully *demand* that the ABOLGA FA and the T&J Dynasty Football Organising Committee:
a. *Reinstate the match* for tomorrow, *13 December 2025*, at the originally scheduled time and venue;
b. *Provide written confirmation* of the reinstatement within *two (2) hours* of receipt of this petition;
c. *Issue a public apology* to Nuabos Legacy FC for the inconvenience caused; and
d. *Ensure that future schedule changes* are communicated at least *48 hours* in advance, in accordance with standard sporting regulations.
5. CONCLUSION
We trust that the governing bodies will act with integrity and uphold the rights of student‑athletes who have fulfilled all obligations in good faith. Failure to address this matter promptly will leave us with no alternative but to pursue peaceful protest and seek redress through the appropriate legal channels.
*Signed,*
