19-Year-Old Facing Life In Prison For Killing Pe*****le Human Trafficker Who R***d Her 23/12/2019

This is sad, so sad!

We are yet to bring our minds to understand the reasoning behind this. We believe that there should be more facts, more questions and more explanations!

Children should be protected not exploited!πŸ˜₯

At Confident Teens Club, we strongly advocate for an all-inclusive education that helps teenagers and young adults to shun crime, have access to internship opportunities as well as interact with mentors that will help them make informed career decisions so as to prepare them for the 21st Century workplace.

This is because we believe that 40% of the quality of education every student needs is found outside the walls of the classroom.

It was on this premise that we joined the students on an excursion to the High Court of Justice, Abia State where the student observed court proceedings both at the Magistrate Court and at the High Court.

We made the students interact with some of the prison inmates who were present in court that day and some of the inmates narrated how their fundamental rights where been infringed upon and the circumstances that led to their incarceration. An inmate in fact told them the crime for which he was arrested but added that crime should never be an option as he had learnt his lessons.

It melted our hearts when we saw one of the students take the refreshments that the Assistant Chief Registrar offered her and willingly gave same to the prisoners! Other students followed suit and they lamented at the state of our Nigerian Criminal Justice system. Some vowed to contribute their quota to change the system once they graduated from the University while others vowed never to engage in any antisocial act that will make them end up behind bars.

The prison warden was also moved by their generosity and offered prayers for the students.

CTCI is committed to juvenile Justice reform by raising model teenagers who know their rights and will ensure peace, justice and strong institutions in Africa.
