IIT Alumnus, Norbert Edomah, Appointed Professor of Energy Systems and Policy:
The Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT) warmly celebrates its alumnus as he climbs to the top of the academic profession.
Like several IIT alumni who have reached the top of industrial professional practice, Prof. Norbert Edomah has led the way for others to seek excellence in the academic profession.
After his Electromechanical studies at IIT in 2004, Prof. Norbert worked at Nigerite Limited as a trainee electromechanical technician. He later joined the Institute for Industrial Technology, Lagos Nigeria, in 2007 as the Industrial Coordinator responsible for the linkage between the Institute and the industry it serves. This role requires an understanding of the industry technical and manpower needs and providing solutions to bridge the skill gap.
In 2010, Prof. Norbert joined Schneider Electric as Product Engineer – Industrial Automation, and in 2013 joined TetraPak as Director, Food Processing Systems Solutions for West Africa. In 2015, he joined the Pan-Atlantic University and is currently the inaugural head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Prof. Norbert Edomah was appointed by the University as a Professor of Energy Systems and Policy in June 2025 and delivered his inaugural lecture on the 7th of November 2025 on "Energy Sustainability and Society: fixing the disconnect around energy access".
Alongside many of his achievements, Prof. Norbert is a member of the Institute for Industrial Technology Governing Council, responsible for policy and strategic direction of the Institute.
Prof. Norbert’s story and that of several alumni reflect the 25 years of impact of the Institute for Industrial Technology towards Youth Development and Quality Technical Education.
Today, 19th of August, Prof. Albert Alos paid a visit to IIT. He was well received by the Management, staff and students of the Institute.
Apart from being the first Dean of Lagos Business School (LBS) and the first Vice Chancellor of Pan-Atlantic University, Prof. Albert Alos has always remained a strong supporter of IIT and the Institute has greatly benefited from it.
A lot can be said about Prof. but from all of us at IIT we say Thank You!
