One possible reason is structure.

Classrooms run on clear routines and consistent expectations. Children know what comes next, what is expected of them, and what happens when they don’t follow through. That consistency helps them stay organised and cooperate.

You can create that same sense of structure at home. It doesn’t have to be rigid, just predictable enough to help your child.

One of the most common mistakes we make is assuming that writing begins when a child is handed a pencil but in reality, writing starts much earlier.

It starts with strong hands, coordination, focus, and lots of play.

If writing feels like a struggle, the problem may not be laziness or lack of interest. It could be that their foundational skills need to be strengthened.
