🐢 End of an Era in Oyo! 💔 | Exclusive by Tripod Times

The ancient palace of the Alaafin of Oyo has announced the passing of "Baba," the legendary 420-year-old tortoise.

Regarded as the "oldest indigene" of the kingdom, Baba was a living link to the historic Old Oyo Empire, surviving generations of monarchs and serving as a beloved icon for historians and tourists alike. Palace officials confirmed to Tripod Times that he passed away peacefully on Monday after a brief illness and has been laid to rest within the palace grounds.

Rest in peace, Baba—a true custodian of history. 👑✨

⚖️ NO MORE SOCIAL MEDIA DEBATES! 🤐

The legal battle over President Bola Tinubu’s eligibility for the 2027 election just got a major twist.

An Abuja High Court has strictly barred all lawyers from discussing the case on traditional and social media platforms.

Justice Inyang Ekwo made it clear: any media trial will be met with severe judicial consequences.

The case, filed by Atiku Abubakar and the ADC, alleges issues with the President's NYSC discharge certificate.

With the case adjourned to September 28, the internet just got a lot quieter for the legal teams involved.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has demanded an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mary Habila, a physiotherapist who was found dead in the Ebonyi residence of Minister of Works, David Umahi.

Tripod Times reports that the party has intensified pressure on the Federal Government to probe the death of the physiotherapist while urging Umahi to step aside to allow an independent panel probe the case.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC made the demands arguing that that such a move is necessary to guarantee public confidence in the outcome of the probe.

Though Umahi has denied any wrongdoing and insisted there was no attempt to conceal the incident, ADC maintained that the death of a citizen inside the residence of a serving cabinet minister is a matter of public interest that requires full transparency and accountability.

Mary Habila’s death sparked nationwide attention after reports emerged that the young physiotherapist died under unclear circumstances at the Ebonyi residence of the Minister

The Ebonyi State Police Command subsequently transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), while the cause of death remains unknown.

However, ADC said questions surrounding Habila’s presence at the minister’s residence and the events leading to her death remain unanswered.

According to the party, only an inquiry conducted outside the influence of the Executive can establish the facts and restore public confidence.
