UNESCO Recommendation: 15% to 20% of the Government Budget should be allocated to Education!

Do you know that the Ebonyi State's 2026 budgetary allocation to the Education Sector alone is 19.84% of the overall budget. This meets and almost surpass the recommendation of UNESCO that Government should provide between 15% to 20% of their overall budgetary provision alone. By 19.84%, Ebonyi has surpassed all the States in Nigeria in Educational budgetary allocation.

Little wonder, we are seeing monumental Education development in Ebonyi State: in fracture and human-capacity development through fully-funded scholarships from NCE through PHD (both foreign and Local). The world class in fracture at the newly-established Ebonyi State University of ICT Oferekpe by His Excellency is a testament to this Education infrastructure revolution. The Ebonyi Student Leaders witnessed, supervised and attested to this great feat on the 29th September 2026.

THE EVIDENCE IS VISIBLE. THE IMPACT IS REAL.

On 29th September, 2026 the STUDENTS' COMMUNITY in Ebonyi State, organised by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students Mobilization, Barr. Odono Angel embarked on an on-the-spot assessment and supervision of some of the State’s major educational projects. What we saw was more than infrastructure. We saw a vision taking physical shape.

From the State-of-the-Art ICT University at Oferekpe, fully equipped with modern, world-class educational facilities, to the Ebonyi State College of Education, Ikwo, and the Ebonyi State College of Nursing, Uburu—the facilities are massive, the infrastructure is visible, and the transformation is difficult to ignore.

For the student community, these are not just buildings. They are classrooms for dreams.
Laboratories for innovation.
Spaces for opportunity.
And foundations for the future.

We sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and Her Excellency Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, for these investments in the future of Ebonyi students. The evidence is on the ground. The students will live the impact.

May the work continue.
May the vision grow.
May more Ebonyi students find their opportunities within these walls.

It is the beginning of capacity.

An NCE graduate can become a teacher.
A degree holder can become a professional.
A Master’s graduate can solve more complex problems.
A PhD holder can create knowledge, train others and drive innovation.

Having verified and established that His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru provided 1623 fully-funded Scholarships Comprising NCE, DEGREE, PGD, MASTERS AND PHD (foreign and Local).

The real question is no longer: “How many people received scholarships?”

The bigger question is: “What are those people now capable of producing?”

That is where the real impact begins?

These are few among many massive infrastructure being developed at the newly-established Ebonyi State University of ICT, Science and Technology Oferekpe by His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru. This is institutional capacity being developed alongside human capacity which he also provided 187 fully-funded Scholarships for the pioneer students of this highly specialized institution around technology and emerging fields. Thank you His Excellency for this great vision!
