It's time to move our alumni forward.
1. Protocol.
2. With every sense of humility and love, I wish to say a very big thank you to all who have contributed to the success of this freedom.
3. Firstly, permit me to appreciate our dear Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Elom his selfless decision and approval to conduct the first AE-FUNAI Alumni election. For me, it is a step in the right direction as it is a step to Repositioning AE-FUNAI Alumni. Prof. Sir, you have indeed made a historic decision, and posterity, we believe, would be kind to you.
4. My appreciation goes to all members of the electoral committee ably chaired by Dr. Charles Okolie for conducting a free, fair and credible election. This has gone a long way to show your interest to see AE-FUNAI Alumni grow from strength to strength.
5. In the same vein, let me also appreciate the Alumni relations officer Mr. Everest Anya for his effort and support in this quest of taking charge of our Alumni Association.
6. Mostly, specially, let me appreciate all members of AE-FUNAI Alumni for turning out in mass to vote for their preferred candidates. It was really a memorable event seeing friends and mates once again since after graduation. It was more like a reunion. I was so happy on the way we conducted ourselves during the voting even though I was not surprised because I know we were trained well both in character and learning in the process that conferred the status of 'Soaring Eagles' on us.
7. I equally use this opportunity to recognize the contributions of the opposition towards the success of the election, though I feel some persons went a little overboard, and as ambassadors of our dear Alma Mater, we have the responsibility to protect and promote her image. Some of the roles we played were very important in making the election interesting and more so, awakened the minds of some other alumni members.
8. At this point, I will like to say this ELECTION IS OVER and most important thing that should be in our minds now is the growth of our Alumni Association. I do not know how you feel about the election but the most important thing for me and my elected team is that we have just started the process of taking charge of the association and structuring it as it should be in line with our constitution.
9. Always remember that what keeps us together is greater than what divides us. All us will agree that with the little get together we had after the election and announcement of results, we can not continue to fight one another, rather, let us collectively work towards promoting peace and progress in our Association.
10. Let me also assure you that we will hit the ground running, and every member's opinions, ideas and supports, are expected, respected and considered. We will adopt the open door policy and as such, good ideas and contributions to the growth of our dear association will be considered and appreciated.
11. Finally, permit me to say that this election was never a fight for supremacy or fight for position but a collective struggle to liberate our Alumni Association. I urge us all to see beyond our greviences and focus more building and promoting our association and our Alma Mater.
12. Thank you so much and may the good Lord continue to guide us aright. Amen.
God bless AE-FUNAI Alumni Association!
God bless AE-FUNAI!!
God bless us all!!!
