LIFE IS HARD!!LIFE IS DIFFICULT!!!

My message today is titled Life is hard” and it’s about how to live a great life despite the fact that life is difficult.

Everybody wants to be happy in life. We all want to live a perfect life. We want that great job or a successful business. We want to be married to Mr. Right or Mrs Perfect. We want to have great kids. We want to have friends that stick by us come rain or shine. We want to be able to have all the material things life has to offer and have all our problems just disappear.
Everybody wishes for good life. It may be at different levels. One person may define a good life one way and another may describe it another way. For one person a good life may be just having three meals a day and a roof over their head. For another it may be having a huge mansion and a couple of million dollars in the bank.

There are different levels and meanings to what a good life is. But whatever you definition of it, there is perhaps one thing that you may have in common with many other people. You might want that good life stress free. You would like to have it without having to work so hard or struggle so much for it. That is a normal human expectation. Nobody likes to struggle through life.

Unfortunately, that is also what may be stopping you from having that great life. The thought of all that work, all that planning, overcoming hurdles and resistance is enough to make a lot of people give up before they even start. It can all seem too overwhelming, and for many it all just doesn’t seem be worth it.

“Once we know that life is difficult- once we truly understand and accept it - then life is no longer difficult.”

In life you will have difficulties getting anything you want. It is very rare to get anything in life without some degree of effort. Only if you win the lottery will you have everything without effort, and even then you would have had to go out and buy the lottery ticket anyway so it’s not free at all.

Life is hard – your boss will not always be the nicest person in the world. Your job will have challenges that you did not foresee. Your workmates will sometimes be a pain. You won’t always get the salary and recognition that you want and deserve at work. Your clients may not be the nicest people in the world.

Life is hard – your kids won’t always be the ideal kids you want them to be. Your wife or husband may not be as perfect as you thought they were when you married them – in fact I can guarantee you they are not. Your home may not be the ideal place you would want it to be. You may not the perfect wife or husband that you once thought you were.

Life is hard – running a business is not as easy as you thought it would be. No one is lining up to bring money to your business, even though you are a really nice person and your business has great products to offer.

I could go on and on with these examples, but the bottom line is that “Life is hard.”

I don’t mean to say in all this that you don’t deserve a break. I am not saying that you are not justified in thinking that you deserve more than what you have gotten from life and the world to this point.

I am not saying that you are not justified in feeling the way that you feel. I know you feel that it’s all very confusing and just too hard. I mean you have worked very hard. You’ve done all that you possibly could in your life whether it is at work or at home. But things just don’t seem to have worked out as well as you had planned or hoped. It all just seems to have gone wrong and you don’t know or understand how or why.

But that’s okay. It’s normal. That’s what being human is all about. That’s what life is all about. Life is hard. Accept that.

But don’t stop there. Accepting that life is hard does not mean that you accept every circumstance and simply go with the flow.

You see, there are two sides to this story. There is another side to this coin. On the one side of the coin is where you have the words “life is hard” inscribed, but if you turn that coin over you will five very small but powerful words. They read:
“You can make it better”

"If life hands you Lemons, make Lemonade."

WHO TO BLAME FOR A WRONG CAREER CHOSEN!!!

It has become a common thing in our common world and in the lives of the humans, must especially among the growing youths who are coming up to chose what they want to become in future or what their life profession will be, as to many mistakes made or a wrong advise in choosing a life career. Many youths grow up to realize that they have taken or chosen a wrong career for themselves and finally looking up on whom to put the blame on!!!
Life is such a rolling ball that no one could tell where it will face on it landing. On one or two occasion one could have made a common mistake; very common so to say but can ruin a life if care is not taken. All humans are different so also their abilities differ but show some kind of similarities. Humans are easily advised, but humans find it difficult to filter most advice and also give a really study of who they are, what their ability is and what it can do.
Most careers are regrettably chosen due to not finding very early what one’s ability is, and what it is capable of. The youths today are the victims of this misfortune and it’s suffered by the youth later in the future and also affects his immediate environment. As a youth grows up in life, he is faced with many puzzle of his future, he seeks for advice and help from many sources just to give him a right comfort. It has been analyzed that only 13 %( percent) of the black continent youths don’t have problem in career choosing, and 35 %( percent) of the world youth population don’t have same problems too which is very poor; showing that most of the youth population surfer same problem. Most careers are handled by ill hands (non-professionals) that is those who are not due to take up the career, while some career have little or no occupant professionals even when there are people who are perfect in that field. In the world today people think of the most lucrative career they could take up not minding if that’s where they are good at. Sometimes people admire other careers not within their scope, like parents will want their child/children to take up a career they want not minding if they can do it, thereby forcing some youths to a frustrating end.
Some youths today see some career as more respected than others, as to many prides they enjoy becoming enlivened by the name of the career they have chosen. Choosing a career does not depend on it lucrative or the pride behind it but on the ability of the individual and his determination to put in the best for the best. No career is more important than the other as all are indispensible to the other, it is just a reasoning to appreciate one’s ability and stop forcing oneself into an unfit career. If a consideration is given to the less appreciated careers today, it will live out to become as important as those that are more appreciated.
Basically, the career issue has become more dilemmas on African countries as a result of the mentality drive. Like the white man who we copy most of our things from, he believes so much in giving the best to everything he is involved with not minding the criticism or risk. Even local careers if given the best ability and determination will ripe a fruitful outcome.
Some prominent personalities today have an establish local career as a profession and the world acknowledge them, it is not all about a white-collar career as most black youths think today. The world surfers most of its set back because of wrong chose of careers, one will want to criticize education as a factor that determines ones position in the world in this present jet age; ‘Education is a catalyst to scope widening, but determination with preparedness in one’s ability is a sure link to success’.
In this case one might opt to call talent a clue to a career choosing. A talent is an inborn ability in all human which differs in its kind in all humans. Sometimes people find out their talents earlier enough which could be a good tool to a good career choosing. A doubt of this gift by some people (youths) is never a conspiracy as many youths still doubt their talents even when discovered earlier enough.
Many mistakes have gone down the stream of career choosing in many lives of the youths, most people have made the mistake but cannot opt back to the normal. One thing is certain in this life, as mistakes are made, solutions are been thought of to prevent the subsequent mistakes. Many career seminars had been organized to sensitize the youths on how to go about choosing their life career.
Today it’s certain that the future of our future lies in the hands of the today’s youth, and choosing a rightful career under one’s ability is the priority fact of the future. Needless counting blames of wrong career choosing on any one, but a quick correction on our mindset will go a long way shaping our instinct on career choosing from the youths down to parents’ advice. A kind advice to parents and my fellow youths is that ‘ability’ should be a priority factors for career choosing for the future. It will be ideal if parents understand that they cannot chose a career for their child/children, parents are main to guard their children on career choosing; like teach them how to build the courage in them and know what their ability is and what range his/her ability could cover. And also to my fellow youth, the hope of our future lies in our hands, believing in yourself and who you are can help a long way to determining the career you are capable of despite the fact that some environment and some government policies do not favor most of the black continent youths, like our country Nigeria will make youths think of the most lucrative career and not considering their ability in that career, you have to hope on the future, believe in yourself and put in the best that is good enough on your ability. Remember it takes a lot to know ‘who you are and what you are made of’.
