NIGERIA AT 66: INDEPENDENCE DAY # ADDRESS TO PARENTS AND SCHOLARS OF EXCELLENT INTELLECTUAL SCHOOLS

BY: DR. CHINEDU NWOKOCHA
CHAIRMAN, BOARD OF TRUSTEES
1ST OCTOBER, 2026

Esteemed members of the Board, distinguished Management and Staff, respected Parents, and my brilliant Scholars of Excellent Intellectual Schools, good morning.

It is with great joy and a deep sense of patriotism that I welcome you all to this special celebration of Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary.

My dear Intellectuals,
Sixty-six years ago, our heroes past fought for a flag, an anthem, and a nation called Nigeria. They fought for political freedom.

But today, I want to tell you, the second freedom is more important than the first. And that is the freedom of the mind. A nation that is politically free but mentally enslaved can never be truly great.

That is why you are in Excellent Intellectual Schools. You are not just here to pass exams. You are here to be prepared to take over Nigeria. Doctors, engineers, leaders, inventors — the future of Nigeria is sitting in this hall right now.

Do not wait until you are 40 to start building Nigeria. Start now. Be disciplined. Be excellent. Be intellectually sound and morally upright. Nigeria does not need more population, Nigeria needs more progressive minds.

Distinguished Parents,
I thank you. Thank you for believing in our vision and for trusting us with your most precious assets - your children.

On this Independence Day, I charge you with this: True independence for a family is when you raise a child who does not need to depend on the system to survive, but has the capacity to create a system for others.

Continue to partner with us. What we teach in school, please reinforce at home. Let us together build children who will make us proud as parents and make Nigeria proud as a nation.

At Excellent Intellectual Schools, we are not just running a school; we are raising nation-builders.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I wish every parent and every scholar a Happy 66th Independence Day.

May your homes be blessed.
May our scholars continue to excel.
And may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Long live Excellent Intellectual Schools!
Long live Abia State!
Long live Nigeria!

Thank you.
