Dear parents, guardians, pupils, students, and all our wonderful friends online,

We are excited to welcome you all to a brand new term at Duke and Joy Model School!

A new term brings with it new opportunities, fresh goals, greater achievements, and renewed energy, and we are grateful to God for the privilege to begin this academic journey together.

As we step into this term, we are proud to unveil our theme for the term:

“MATHEMATICS IS MY FRIEND”

This theme is more than just a slogan—it is a mindset we want every learner to embrace.

At Duke and Joy Model School, we believe that choosing a theme for each term helps to create focus, inspire learning, and guide our activities toward a meaningful goal. A theme gives direction to both our teaching and our students’ learning experience, helping everyone stay intentional about what we want to achieve together.

We chose “Mathematics Is My Friend” this term because mathematics plays a vital role in everyday life. From telling time, counting money, measuring, problem-solving, and making decisions, mathematics is all around us. Yet, many students see mathematics as difficult or intimidating.

This term, we want to change that perception.

We want our learners to see mathematics not as an enemy to fear, but as a friend that helps us think, reason, and solve problems.By embracing mathematics, students develop confidence, logical thinking, creativity, and skills that are essential for academic success and everyday living.

Throughout this term, we will be engaging our learners in fun, practical, and exciting mathematics-centered activities designed to build their confidence and strengthen their love for mathematics.
