LOCAL SUPPLIERS’ WORKSHOP – The recently concluded Upstream Oil and Gas Local Supplier’s workshop ended with insightful presentations by service companies who shared valuable information on how to become subcontractors for petroleum projects.

The day also featured business-to-business engagements on the margins of the workshop, creating opportunities for local suppliers to connect, exchange insights and explore strategic partnerships.

The Namibia Training Authority (NTA) and Petrofund Namibia today held a courtesy engagement between NTA CEO, Mr Erick Fundula Nenghwanya and Petrofund CEO, Ms Nillian Mulemi. The discussions focused on areas of mutual interest in skills development for Namibia’s emerging oil and gas sector, including potential collaboration in technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The engagement also highlighted the strategic role of the Keetmanshoop Vocational Training Centre - KVTC, earmarked as Namibia’s oil and gas training hub, in preparing a skilled workforce to support the country’s growing energy industry.

LOCAL SUPPLIERS’ WORKSHOP – The second day of the workshop began with a recap of Day 1, followed by an overview of the upstream oil and gas value chain from the exploration phase through to a potential final investment decision.

The day also featured business-to-business engagements on the margins of the workshop, creating opportunities for local suppliers to connect, exchange insights and explore strategic partnerships.

LOCAL SUPPLIERS’ WORKSHOP – Access to funding for micro, small and medium enterprises remains a critical enabler for their participation in the upstream petroleum industry.

Yesterday, local banks, led by our official sponsors, the FirstRand Group (FNB/RMB) delivered presentations outlining how MSMEs can access available financing opportunities.
