PRESIDENT NETUMBO NANDI-NDAITWAH APPOINTS HONOURABLE BERNADETTE MARIA JAGGER AS SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITY INTERFACE ADVISOR
President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has appointed Honourable Bernadette Maria Jagger as Social Development and Community Interface Advisor to the President, effective 1 October 2026.
The appointment is made in accordance with Article 32(3)(hh) of the Namibian Constitution, read together with the Special Advisors and Regional Governors Appointment Act, No. 6 of 1990.
In this role, Honourable Jagger will advise the President on policies and programmes that advance social development, strengthen community engagement and promote national cohesion.
Her responsibilities will include providing policy recommendations on poverty reduction, education, health, youth development, social protection and community empowerment.
She will also serve as a bridge between the Presidency and communities across all regions, ensuring that their concerns and aspirations are brought to the President’s attention. This will involve engagement with civil society, traditional authorities, faith-based organisations, youth, women and other community stakeholders, with particular attention to vulnerable and marginalised groups.
Her mandate further includes monitoring the implementation of presidential directives on social development, assessing the impact of relevant programmes and recommending improvements informed by evidence and community feedback.
In making the appointment, President Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed confidence in Honourable Jagger’s ability and commitment to discharge her duties with professionalism, dedication, efficiency and effectiveness.
