Minet Namibia recently participated in a high-impact engagement with the Chinese business community, hosted by the Bank of China, reinforcing the strength of global partnerships and the growing importance of cross-border collaboration across Africa.

Held in April 2026, the event brought together representatives from Chinese enterprises operating in the region, alongside key stakeholders including the Chinese Embassy. The presence of the Commercial Counselor further highlighted the strategic significance of the engagement and the deepening ties between Africa and China’s business ecosystem.

Minet Namibia was honoured to be part of this important platform, working in close collaboration with Aon colleagues from the UK and China. The delegation included Fang Li (Aon UK), Julian Jiang and Johnny Xu (Aon China), whose combined expertise contributed to a highly relevant and insightful programme.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation delivered by Fang Li on introducing Aon-Cofco, Aon, and Aon local capability/Minet, which is an important strategy to connect Minet with Chinese business locally and to emphasis Minet's great advantage in servicing Chinese State Owned Enterprises (SOEs). The session provided valuable perspectives on structuring risk solutions to support sustainable growth, resonating strongly with the audience of Chinese corporates active in Africa.

Representing Minet Namibia were Caroline Athiyo, Estelle van Zyl, Nadine Towsen and Yvandri Jansen Van Vuuren, whose presence underscored Minet’s commitment to building meaningful relationships and supporting international clients with tailored, locally grounded expertise.

This engagement is a testament to the power of partnership. The collaboration with Aon’s China Desk, built through sustained engagement over time, has enabled Minet to tap into new networks and opportunities within the Chinese business community. It also reflects Minet’s broader ambition to position itself as a trusted advisor to global organisations investing across the continent.
