Prestigious Institute of Science & Technology is a high learning institute opening up in Rundu for academic year 2017. Our courses are aimed at inspiring and imparting skills to it's students.
Why is PIST being introduced in the education sector?
Firstly, we are a visionary nation with numerous objectives to achieve in less that 13years to come. These objectives will only be realised by the use of mental fit human resources that has the ability to transform their dreams into reality. Vision 2030 is not a single man's goal, it's a vision made up of realised individual goals and objectives. Your dream is part of that, as a person reading this text.
Secondly, the current education system is not enough and sufficient in itself to realise this vision... Because it's not educating people but rather filling their heads with bookish definition and expecting them to apply that. I don't mean to offend. According to the research conducted by PIST, Many graduates from renowned institutes are sitting home with their qualifications and some of them working, yet those work are not related to what they have studied. Does that mean there are no jobs to recruit them all? Or does it show us the flaw we have in our education system?
In short, the current education system is preparing people to be job seekers and not job creators. If u have graduated and are without work/ working in an unrelated field from the one u studied, u will understand us better.
Why a sudden blame on the system and it's related bodies? And does that mean they are not doing any good?
The existing institutions are doing good, yet not good enough to realise vision 2030. For example, why can't the high learning institutions track their graduates progress with the help government institutions to ensure that the knowledge obtained from this institutions are being for sustainable development of this country? This population is few enough to manage compared to other countries having more than 10 million people.
These African countries will breed poverty, illiteracy and enslaved mind if it continue the same trend of education system, something should be done...
