Educating the mind, without educating the heart, is No education at all.

Prestigious Institute of Science & Technology is a high learning institute opening up in Rundu for academic year 2017. Our courses are aimed at inspiring and imparting skills to it's students.

Why is PIST being introduced in the education sector?

Firstly, we are a visionary nation with numerous objectives to achieve in less that 13years to come. These objectives will only be realised by the use of mental fit human resources that has the ability to transform their dreams into reality. Vision 2030 is not a single man's goal, it's a vision made up of realised individual goals and objectives. Your dream is part of that, as a person reading this text.

Secondly, the current education system is not enough and sufficient in itself to realise this vision... Because it's not educating people but rather filling their heads with bookish definition and expecting them to apply that. I don't mean to offend. According to the research conducted by PIST, Many graduates from renowned institutes are sitting home with their qualifications and some of them working, yet those work are not related to what they have studied. Does that mean there are no jobs to recruit them all? Or does it show us the flaw we have in our education system?
In short, the current education system is preparing people to be job seekers and not job creators. If u have graduated and are without work/ working in an unrelated field from the one u studied, u will understand us better.

Why a sudden blame on the system and it's related bodies? And does that mean they are not doing any good?

The existing institutions are doing good, yet not good enough to realise vision 2030. For example, why can't the high learning institutions track their graduates progress with the help government institutions to ensure that the knowledge obtained from this institutions are being for sustainable development of this country? This population is few enough to manage compared to other countries having more than 10 million people.

These African countries will breed poverty, illiteracy and enslaved mind if it continue the same trend of education system, something should be done...

Hi Guys! FingerTips Electronics is offering short training in WebSite Design, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering. Course duration:4 months. Registration ends on the 1st of July 2016. Classes only Saturdays from 8h00- 13:00. Venue of training: Katutura Youth Center in Windhoek. These training is aimed toward youth empowerment and skills development. Those who complete this training are able to start their own business or firms.

Registration fee: N$200
Monthly instalment: N$400

Classes are on Saturdays to ammo date workers and students.

Namibia need skilled labourers, properly said as namibia need to give birth to skilled citizens. Holding a diploma and degree in your hand for something you registered at a college or university doesnt mean you know. The tendency family hunger-killer is slowly sliding our nation resources from us to some foreign GOVERNMENTs. We can get a job to feed our family today but we are fofeiting the future of our nation. If you are working as a general labourer, do yourself a favor and study a course that will make you competent for a certain job with foreigners. Dont just sit and feed your family with porrige with no without of what environment your grand- children will live in. At fingertips electeonics we desire to see our namibia have people with titles such as Dr and Prof as normal as mr. We encourage all citizens of this country to further your study. Be it you are a grade 8 or 7 drop out, you can still further it with career school out there til grade 10 or 12 and continue to do your diploma or degree!
