One more KFC in Africa...just for good measure!

On my fantastic seventeen days in Egypt, I got to see so many tombs, temples, and monuments. Here are two more, Kom Ombo and Edfu built during the Greek and Roman occupation. The former is dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek as well as Horus the falcon god. The museum had croc mummies! The later is dedicated to Horus and is the most complete temple in Egypt. Thanks for sharing my journey with me through these photos and I hope these encourage you to go and travel!

So after climbing Mt. Sinai, I crash-napped for an hour before taking a stroll around the monastery. Sadly, I couldn't go in the library or take photos in the church but let's just say the feeling of being in a 1400 year old church is unforgettable!

Want to know what it looks like to be at the top of Mt. Sinai at sunrise? Or the magical scenery around it? No problem, I've got that covered! If these views don't make you want to jump on a plane to the Sinai, nothing will!
Trip's almost over...what a trip its been! Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, and the UAE! I made it to three emirates:Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah. Any one know how many there are? Which ones did I miss?

Exploring the National Museum here in Bahrain...really informative about the island's importance in trade and pearling. Only drawbacks are the creepy people in the displays and their over-reliance on Celine Dion songs in the museum cafe...

Eating like a king in Sharjah...following local custom with a big meal for lunch. Kebabs, biryani, lentil soup, naan...fusion of cultures! Yay!

Back in the UAE and I have mobile service again! Headed to Dubai's neighbor Sharjah which has maintained its Bedouin culture more overtly than her sisters Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Cool pics to follow but here is my date milkshake I had in Oman...yum!
