IBSD is proud to celebrate our members, Prof. Dr. Mohd. Nazip Suratman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faezah Pardi and Dr. Nadiah Md Yusof for their involvement in this forthcoming publication, together with international collaborator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bogdan M. Strimbu.

Strategic Partnership for a Sustainable Future: IBSD, UiTM & Daiki Aluminium 🌍♻️

July 30, 2026, was a significant day for the Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainable Development (IBSD) at UiTM. We were honored to host a delegation from Daiki Aluminium Industry (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. for a productive preliminary meeting to discuss future collaborations.

We were joined by Daiki’s Director, Mr. Abd Hisam Abd Ghani, General Manager / Director Mr.Naga Thevan T. and Technical Manager, Mr. Toshiki Hashimoto, to explore meaningful synergies between academia and the industry.

As a global leader in aluminium recycling with over a century of heritage, Daiki Aluminium’s commitment to the circular economy and decarbonisation aligns perfectly with our vision at IBSD. Our discussion centered on several impactful areas:
Joint Research: Focusing on carbon footprint reduction, energy efficiency, life cycle assessment (LCA), and sustainable manufacturing.
Talent Development: Creating opportunities for student internships, industrial training, and final-year projects.
Knowledge Exchange: Establishing technical seminars and guest lecture series to bridge the gap between industrial challenges and academic solutions.

24 Julai 2026 – Perbincangan bersama delegasi Tamco Switchgear (M) Sdn. Bhd. yang diketuai oleh Encik Izzul Zulkifli, Ketua ESH/ESG, telah berlangsung dengan jayanya bertempat di IBSD UiTM Shah Alam.Perbincangan strategik ini bertujuan meneroka potensi kerjasama dalam pelaksanaan program berasaskan Tanggungjawab Sosial Korporat (CSR) dan inisiatif Alam Sekitar, Sosial dan Tatakelola (ESG). SEKALUNG TAHNIAH DAN SYABAS diucapkan kepada Prof. Madya Dr. Memiyanty Haji Abdul Rahim, Ahli Tetap IBSD, atas pelantikan beliau sebagai Pakar Rujuk Dasar bagi Pelan Perlindungan Warisan Kebudayaan Tidak Ketara (WTK) Malaysia 2025–2030.

Menerusi pelantikan ini, beliau akan bersama Jabatan Warisan Negara (JWN) menyampaikan ceramah dan taklimat kepada agensi kerajaan, kementerian, institusi pengajian, persatuan, NGO serta pengamal dan penggiat seni di seluruh Malaysia melalui Program Jerayawara Pengurusan Warisan Malaysia.

Siri pertama jerayawara telah berlangsung dengan jayanya pada 30 Jun 2026 di Galeri Arkeologi Lenggong dan akan diteruskan ke negeri-negeri lain di seluruh negara.

Pelantikan ini membuktikan komitmen Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) dalam menyumbang kepakaran akademik dan penyelidikan ke arah memperkukuh usaha perlindungan, pemeliharaan dan kelestarian warisan kebudayaan negara.

Kajian Lapangan Orang Asli Kaum Batek, Taman Negara Pahang I
13–16 Julai 2026 I Kajian lapangan ini diketuai oleh Ahli Bersekutu IBSD, Prof. Madya Dr. Norol Hamiza Zamhuri, bersama pasukan penyelidik yang terdiri daripada Ahli Tetap IBSD, Prof. Madya Dr. Siti Noor Hajjar Md. Latip dan Prof. Madya Dr. Memiyanty Haji Abdul Rahim. Turut menyertai kajian lapangan ini ialah Dr. Mohd Amli bin Abdullah @ Baharum, Dr. Natasha binti Dzulkalnine, serta pelatih industri IBSD, En. Faisal Ab. Aziz.

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memahami amalan kehidupan komuniti Orang Asli Kaum Batek, khususnya yang berkaitan dengan pelancongan, pertanian, dan pengetahuan pengurusan kewangan di Taman Negara Pahang.

Semoga hasil kajian ini dapat menyumbang kepada pengukuhan kelestarian dan kesejahteraan hidup komuniti Orang Asli serta menjadi asas kepada pembangunan program dan penyelidikan yang memberi manfaat kepada masyarakat.
