Supercritical Fluid Centre One-stop Service Centre to undertake commercial extraction as well as product development using Supe It has been established for SFC to focus on two areas:

Supercritical Fluid Centre (SFC) is a collaboration project between Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation (BiotechCorp) starting from 2009. UPM has been appointed as the Custodian for SFC as Platform Technology to be Licensed from FeyeCon Development & Implementation B.V. under the Biotechnology Acquisition Programme by BiotechCorp. Feyecon is a technology solutio

ns provider on supercritical fluid extraction and particle formation technologies. SFC is a one-stop research centre containing equipments related to green technology, specifically the supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) technology used in extraction process and powder formation located in the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, UPM Serdang. To develop and produce products to be sold to the clients from cosmoceutical, nutraceutical and food industries. Toll / Contract Manufacturing

Today we are having Knowledge Transfer Session between Supercritical Fluid Centre, Faculty of Food Science and Technology UPM with Faculty of Applied Science, UiTM.

They have a SFE unit that is broken for so many years and Alhamdulillah we managed to fix it and gave them proper training on Supercritical CO2 technology.

Hi Semua! Sekian lama tiada sebarang update untuk projek, kali ini SFC ingin memaklumkan yang kami akan mengesktrak bahan mentah Myrah menggunakan teknologi supercritical CO2.

Tekstur Myrah rapuh dan mempunyai aroma yang 'sweet' dan tidak sengit.

Hi!!! Our next project is to extract Kenaf Seed. Do you know what is the benefit of the Kenaf Oil? It is use in cosmetics line, industril lubricants and biofuel production. However, it has poor water solubility and stability. Thus,we will try to reduce the limitations and try to find the alternatives to make use of it..So,please pray for us!!!

Hi Everyone!!!
We are occupied with a few projects for this week and becoming weeks. Currently, we are extracting :

1. Date Seed
2. Tamarind Leaves
3. Ginger
4. Herb leaves

And also, we are conducting some new method to :
1. Impregnate the filament with pomegranate oil using supercritical technology
2. Observe the effect of sterilization on the meat using supercritical technology with the addition of selected essential oil

Today, we were extracting the Lycopene from tomato skin..we will definitely share with you guys the photos of the extract. The result for today was beyond expectation. Normally, for the first day, we will facing some difficulties and troubles, but Alhamdulillah the trial was successfully done.
