[KEM EKSPLORASI MYBIS: SAHABAT BIODIVERSITI]

Kem Eksplorasi MyBIS: Sahabat Biodiversiti was held from 1–3 September 2026 at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), Kepong, where Ecology and Biodiversity students, accompanied by Ts. Dr. Hidayah Mamat, represented Universiti Malaya.

Organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) through the Malaysia Biodiversity Information System (MyBIS), the three-day camp provided hands-on exposure to biodiversity identification, taxonomy, macro photography, field observations, biodiversity data management, scientific communication and the use of the MyBIS portal.

As a next step, the project will continue through CEPA activities with students, supported by funding from NRES. This will provide an opportunity to share the knowledge and experiences gained during the camp with the wider community.

A sincere thank you to NRES, MyBIS and FRIM for this meaningful opportunity and for empowering young people to play an active role in Malaysia’s biodiversity conservation efforts.

EVENT RECAP | e-Annual General Meeting (e-AGM) 2026]

Ecology Biodiversity Society, Universiti Malaya (EcoBio UM) successfully conducted its e-Annual General Meeting (e-AGM) on 30 July 2026 via Google Meet.

The meeting served as an important platform to reflect on the society's achievements throughout the 2025/2026 session, present key updates, and elect the new High Committee who will lead the society for the 2026/2027 session.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected High Committee:
• President: Ain Syabila
• Vice President: Ayu Aznyzan
• Secretary: Norhizrin Dania
• Treasurer: Nur Zulaikha

We are confident that their leadership, commitment, and vision will continue to strengthen the society and inspire meaningful initiatives in ecology and biodiversity.

[KL Arts Festival 2026] ✨

EcobioUM was honoured to participate in the 4th KL Arts Festival (KLAF'26) at KL City Art Gallery, Publika on 12 June, where we had the opportunity to showcase our booth and share our passion for ecology and biodiversity with the wider community.

The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and discussions on environmental awareness and conservation. We were delighted to connect with visitors and introduce them to the initiatives of EcobioUM.
