Today we were honoured to witness the inspiring presence of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Gatka Group Malaysia Tour 2026 at Gurdwara Sahib Subang. It was especially meaningful to have the students of Punjabi Education Center, Gurdwara Sahib Subang experience this beautiful part of Sikh heritage.

What is Gatka?
Gatka is the traditional Sikh martial art, developed to build discipline, courage, fitness and self control. It is more than just movement or weapon training, it carries the spirit of defending righteousness, protecting the weak, and standing against injustice.

Its roots go back to the times of the Sikh Gurus, especially during the era of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and later strengthened by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who prepared the Khalsa to be saint soldiers, humble in character, but fearless when it came to truth and justice. Gatka became a way to preserve both physical strength and spiritual focus.

Today, Gatka continues to remind the younger generation of our identity, values and history. Watching these skilled Singhs perform with such grace, discipline and dedication was truly uplifting. More importantly, it gave our children a chance to connect with their roots and understand the strength of Sikhi beyond books and classrooms.

A heartfelt thank you to Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Gatka Group for visiting and sharing their knowledge with our sangat and students. May our youth continue to learn, grow and carry forward this proud legacy.

What an absolutely incredible day! 🙌

This Vaisakhi, 𝟲𝟱 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 stepped up and blew us all away — supported by 𝟭𝟬 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 and an amazing team of parent volunteers who made it all possible.

Our young champions competed across 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 that celebrated both faith and creativity:

From powerful Gurbani recitations to stunning card designs to lightning-fast quiz answers — these kids showed up with confidence, heart, and talent that left everyone in awe.

But the most beautiful part? 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆. Not just for what they memorized or created — but for the courage they showed in standing tall in their faith and identity.

To our young stars, our judges, and every volunteer — thank you. This community is so bright because of YOU. 💛

𝗣𝗘𝗖 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 – 𝗔 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝘄𝗮 & 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮

Today we successfully conducted our 𝗣𝗘𝗖 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, and it was truly heart-warming to witness most of the 𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗮 being carried out by our children.

From 𝗞𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻 and 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮 to 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗮𝘀, and 𝗛𝘂𝗸𝘂𝗺𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗮, the kids participated with confidence, discipline, and sincerity. They didn’t just perform — they demonstrated true understanding of 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗮, responsibility, and respect inside the Darbar Sahib.

The 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝘄𝗮 and 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗮 were beautifully managed by the children under guidance, showing teamwork, humility, and leadership. Many stepped forward voluntarily, supported one another, and carried themselves with maturity beyond their age.

Parents and sangat were proud to witness the growth, courage, and spiritual development of our PEC students. It was a well-organised and meaningful programme, made possible through the support of our teachers, parents, and volunteers.

What a joyful first day! We welcomed back our wonderful students along with many excited new families joining our PEC family. The enthusiasm in each child's eyes as they eagerly embrace learning our mother tongue truly warms our hearts.

We ended the day with sweet birthday celebrations for all our students who turned a year older between October and December. The smiles and laughter made it a perfect beginning!
