We’re halfway to the finish line! 🎨✨ The Diploma in Graphic Design students recently presented their Major Project work-in-progress, sharing the concepts, creative thinking and visual directions behind their developing projects. From early ideas to evolving outcomes, each project reflects a journey of exploration, experimentation and discovery.

More than just a presentation, it was a chance to exchange perspectives, explore different creative approaches and learn from one another because great ideas often grow through conversation.

With the Graduation Show on the horizon, every critique, experiment and creative breakthrough brings them one step closer to transforming their ideas into polished final outcomes. One insight, one creative decision and one step at a time, they’re getting closer to bringing their vision to life.

Our Diploma in Graphic Design students went beyond the classroom and behind the scenes of the professional printing industry, exploring how their Major Project ideas can be transformed from concepts on screen into professional printed outcomes.

Turning Ideas into Reality
From printing processes and paper selection to finishing and quality control, students explored the details that transform a design from screen to tangible, professional print.

Design Meets Industry
The visit also offered a closer look at current technologies, sustainable practices and career opportunities giving students a stronger understanding of the decisions behind successful design and production.

Because great design doesn’t stop on screen it comes to life in the real world.

Our Semester 2 Interior Design students from INTI International College of Arts and Design (ICAD) upgraded their learning venture into the world of materials at iN Design Lab.

Students explored different textures, finishes, surfaces and material applications, experiencing them firsthand and discovering how the right material choices can transform the look, feel and function of an interior space. 🪵🧱✨

Interior Design goes beyond aesthetics. It’s about creating spaces that feel right, function well, and bring materials together with purpose.

A hands-on experience that connects classroom knowledge with real-world design practice, while sparking fresh ideas for their upcoming projects.

ICAD KONGSI BUAT CAKAP SERIES 💛

This Mid-Autumn Festival, our ICAD lecturers and students brought creativity, warmth, and joy to the elderly residents of Pertubuhan Kebajikan USJ, Subang Jaya.

Through beautifully designed lanterns that brightened their home and the sharing of essential necessities, we celebrated the true meaning of togetherness, kindness, and care. ❤️

Beyond the classroom, our students learned that creativity is not just about making beautiful things, it is about making a meaningful difference in people‘s lives.

✨ We create with purpose. We share with heart. We make a difference together.

Final-year students from the BA (Hons) Graphic Design 3+0 programme, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University stepped into the world of real-world advertising through an exciting industry collaboration with Wofollow and Miaow Miaow Food.

The day kicked off with an inspiring sharing session by Nicole Low, brand manager of Wofollow, who decoded the art of translating real-world market insights into compelling creative strategies. From dissecting the live brief to rapid ideation and executive pitching, students navigated the complete agency workflow. All within a single afternoon.

Beyond design pedagogy, this initiative advances SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by embedding authentic professional practice into academia.

A big thank you to Wofollow and Miaow Miaow Food for giving our students the opportunity to learn, create and experience advertising beyond the classroom.

What happens when a design leaves the drawing board?

Our Diploma in Interior Design (DID) students stepped into the industry with a visit to Space Lab and Firadaus Khazis Architect, where Ar. Firadaus took them through the realities of a design-and-build practice.

From design development and material selection to fabrication, construction and project management, students gained a closer look at how ideas are transformed into built outcomes — including the challenges that happen along the way.

Who says design elements and principles belong only in the classroom?

Our Semester 1 CFDE students took their learning out into the real world at the National Textile Museum, putting their knowledge to the test by spotting design at work across Malaysia’s rich textile heritage.

From rhythm in repetitive cultural patterns and colour and emphasis in Baba Nyonya attire, to movement through line and shape in batik — suddenly, those design principles weren’t just notes on a slide.

They were everywhere.

🎨 Learning goes beyond the classroom!

Our *BA (Hons) Graphic Design 3+0* in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University, UK students explored Balai Seni Negara, discovering how **composition, colour, form, material, visual language, and storytelling** are applied across different works of art.

Seeing the artworks in person encouraged students to observe, question, analyse, and discover new perspectives that can inspire their own creative practice. ✨
