The Malaysia International Building Innovation Expo (MIBIE) 2026, which will be held at MAEPS Serdang, Selangor from 18 – 20 November 2026, organised its Soft Launch on 20 May 2026, bringing together key leaders and industry associations from the construction, logistics and machinery sectors.
A special panel discussion session featured distinguished speakers including Mr Derrick Tanggapan, Director of MIDA Melaka, Datuk Dr. Noel Robert, Chairman of Material Handling and Logistics Technology Association of Malaysia (MHLTA), and Colonel Associate (CD) Frank Tan, Vice President of Crane Lifting Planners and Supervisors Association of Malaysia (CLPSAM).
Mr Derrick Tanggapan, Director of the Malacca Office of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), pointed out that the future development direction of the construction industry should focus on "3S": Smart, Sustainable, and Scalable.: “If we look at it from these three S’ perspectives, we should also regard sustainability and competitiveness as the same goal to drive long-term growth.”
Datuk Dr. Noel Robert, believes that the construction industry is moving towards a development model centered on smart technology, and developers should adopt relevant practices as soon as possible. He said that the relevant technologies can be implemented gradually according to the capabilities of enterprises, but the key is that "action must begin now."
Colonel Frank Tan shared insights on how digital transformation is reshaping the construction industry across Southeast Asia. He highlighted “We used to see the Forest of Trees, now we see the Forest of Cranes”. The increasing complexity of modern construction projects, especially with the rapid growth of data centres, highways, increasing number of aesthetic buildings to be built, and renewable energy developments in Malaysia adds to the fast growth of the Construction Industry. There are also more than 200 offshore platforms facilities to be decommissioned in Southeast Asia.
Presentation from Colonel Associate (CD) Frank Tan:
https://shorturl.at/b6f1j
He emphasized that smart digital solutions such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), crane lifting planning software, digital twin simulations and smart integrated safety helmets are becoming essential software and hardware tools to improve project planning, safety, efficiency and communication among stakeholders.
Colonel Frank Tan also stressed that cost saving in construction should not come from lowering standards, but from “doing the work right the first time.” He explained that better planning and technology adoption can reduce machinery downtime, avoid repeated work, improve sustainability and enhance long-term operational efficiency.
The panel session also discussed how scalable and sustainable technologies are important not only for new construction projects, but also for urban redevelopment, demolition and infrastructure refurbishment across the region.
The soft launch was also attended by various industry organisations including Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises Association (SAMENTA), Malaysian Heavy Construction Machinery Owners Association (PAJPBM) and Malaysian Interior Decoration Partners Association (MIIP), reflecting strong collaboration within Malaysia’s construction and industrial ecosystem.

Iso Group sponsored a Defensive Driving for Ambulance Training for 5 personnel of APM ambulance drivers.
To date, we have supported and trained over 500 ambulance drivers from this government organisation, an Angkatan under the purview of the Prime Minister’s Department, consistently for more than 10 years.
ISO Group believes in helping the charitable organisations who are there to serve the general public. Such organisations include The Fleet of Ambulance Drivers from Uncle Kentang and St. John Ambulance, Bulan Sabit, Mercy Malaysia, Private Hemodialysis Charity Centre, etc.
ISO Group’s high impact skill training for Ambulance & other Emergency Response Drivers is important because an ambulance is equivalent to Mobile Emergency ICU in an Ambulance has a market value exceeding RM 400,000. It is also transporting Professional Driver, Nurse, Paramedic and victim.
The ISO Group is the only NSC USA authorised Defensive Driving training centre in Southeast Asia. ISO Group has trained over 1000 Ambulance Drivers and First Responders till to date. Participants include
1.Malaysia Civil Defence Force (Angkatan Pertahanan Awam),

3. Factories Ambulance. PERKESO Rehabilitation & Haemodialysis Centre, Private/ Government/ University Hospitals like Columbia, IJN, KPJ, Nilai Medical, Tong Shin, UITM, etc, nationwide.
Participants are trained on theory & practical On-the -Road assessment and Computer Simulator customised for Ambulance Driving. E.g.:
* Scanning near junctions, whilst driving in different environments, quick manoeuvre to prevent head-on collision. Most Ambulance Accidents are at junctions. Animals / vehicles emerging and people gathered are also common issues.
* Journey Management Plan for Ambulance during any emergency time, differing circumstances or weathers, good or raining, day or night, silhouette hours
* Duties when arriving on accident sites. E.g., other emergency response vehicles whether on site, where & how to park &/or repark, perform HIRARC analysis for any electrical, mud, flood on gradient land, hazardous chemicals & direction of windage
* ISO’s Proprietary techniques – Hand Navigational Signals, RUA “Destiny Prediction”. Driver cannot hear the assistant when the siren is blaring.
