๐ธ Maplewoodโs Fighting Spirit Shines Bright at the MSSD Badminton Sepang 2026 ๐ธ
This yearโs journey at MSSD was never just about medals. It was about heart. About showing up when it matters, pushing through pressure, and learning what it truly means to represent something bigger than yourself.
Every match played by our students carried that Maplewood spirit โ quiet determination, resilience under pressure, and the courage to keep fighting for every single point.

A very special congratulations to Seah Bao Jun for earning a place to represent the district of Sepang at MSSS. This is a proud moment for Maplewood, and a reflection of consistent effort, humility, and discipline.
And most importantly, a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated coaches โ Coach Afiq and Coach Dini.
You both were there through every early morning, every training session, every moment of doubt and every moment of breakthrough. More than coaching technique, youโve guided our students with patience, belief, and genuine care. This journey would not be the same without your steady presence beside them.
To all our players โ thank you for giving everything you had on court. Youโve shown that winning is not only measured in medals, but in character, effort, and growth.
This is what we build at Maplewood. Not just athletes, but young people who learn to stand tall, compete with integrity, and rise again after every challenge.

๐ Maplewood MSSD Chess Achievement โ A Proud Milestone ๐
Dear Maplewood Team,
This year marks a special milestone for us, as it is the first time Maplewood participated in the MSSD Chess Tournament โ and what an incredible start it has been.
Our Under 15 and Under 18 teams have achieved Team 3rd Place, a commendable accomplishment that reflects the dedication and effort put in by everyone involved.
In addition, we are proud to share that several of our students achieved Top 10 individual rankings in both the Under 15 and Under 18 categories โ a remarkable personal achievement that showcases their skill, focus, and determination.
A heartfelt thank you to Coach Afiq, Tr Kai, Tr Amalina, and Coach Dini. Your determination, guidance, and continuous encouragement played a vital role in shaping our studentsโ confidence and performance. Your commitment truly made a difference.
What stood out the most was not just the trophies, but the expressions on our studentsโ faces โ the satisfaction, pride, and joy of competing and achieving something meaningful. These are moments that cannot be measured, only experienced.
To our girlsโ team, although no awards were secured this time, your effort is deeply recognised. Within such a short preparation period, being able to win several rounds is already an achievement worth celebrating. This is just the beginning.
Being at the venue reminded us that competitions are not only about results, but about the journey, resilience, and growth.
While students competed inside the hall, our coaches and teachers waited outside โ holding onto hope, anticipation, and belief.
โLike waiting outside a delivery room, hearts racing with anticipation โ not knowing the outcome, but believing something meaningful is about to be born.โ๐จโ๐ผ๐ฉโ๐ผ
That moment, that feeling โ only those who were there can truly understand.
Let us carry this spirit forward. This is just the beginning for Maplewood.
Well done, team. Keep it up! ๐ชโ๏ธ
Sometimes we forget how brave learning can be.
Watching a group of our non-Chinese speaking students take on Mandarin recently was a quiet reminder of that. It wasnโt perfect. There were pauses, laughter, and a lot of trying again. But they showed up, and that mattered.
Our teachers see these moments for what they are. Learning isnโt just about getting the right answers or preparing for the next exam. Itโs about building the confidence to try, the patience to keep going, and the character that comes from not giving up too quickly.
Somewhere along the way, itโs easy for all of us to focus a little too much on grades. But if weโre honest, that was never the main reason we sent our children to school.
We wanted them to grow.
To learn how to face challenges.
To become someone steady, curious, and resilient.
And sometimes, that growth looks exactly like this โ a child trying to say something new in a language they donโt yet fully understand, but choosing to try anyway.
Thatโs learning too. And it matters.

๐โจ Selamat Hari Raya from all of us at Maplewood International School!
May this festive season bring joy, forgiveness, and beautiful moments with your loved ones. May your hearts be filled with peace and your homes with happiness. ๐

For the very first time, our students stepped onto the field of the MSSD Cross Country Running โ not as seasoned athletes, but as brave hearts willing to take on a challenge far beyond their comfort zones.
They ran with determination.
They ran with courage.
And most importantly, they ran without fear.
With the unwavering guidance and encouragement from Coach Afiq and Coach Dini, our team pushed through every mile, every doubt, and every moment of exhaustion โ finishing 12th out of 26 schools.
Not bad for a first run. But this story was never about rankings.
Because legends are not defined by victories aloneโฆ
They are forged through resilience, through the courage to begin,
and through the strength to rise again after every fall.
This is just the beginning.
And we know โ this team will come back stronger.
We are proud of you. Always.
โจ Thatโs how legends are made. โจ
And so it beganโฆ.
February marks the start of our IGCSE Mock Examinations for the Class of 2026.
Mock exams are more than just practice papers. They are an important milestone in the journey towards the actual IGCSE examinations. They give our students the opportunity to experience the real exam environment, understand how to manage their time, identify areas that need improvement, and most importantly, build the confidence they need for the final examination.
For many of our students, this is the moment where preparation begins to feel real. The early mornings, the revisions, the determination to do better than yesterday.
At Maplewood, we believe mock exams are not about perfection โ they are about learning, growing, and becoming stronger with every step.
To our students:
Do your best, stay calm, and trust the effort you have already put in. Every challenge you face now is helping you become more prepared for the road ahead.
This is only the beginning of the journey towards IGCSE 2026, and we are incredibly proud to walk this path together with you.

๐๐ฅ Nurturing Healthy Habits for Growing Minds ๐ฅโจ
A childโs journey in school is shaped not only by what they learn in the classroom, but also by the nourishment they receive every day. A balanced and healthy diet plays a powerful role in supporting focus, memory, emotional balance, and overall energy levels โ all of which directly influence how children learn, participate, and grow in school.
When students begin their day with proper nutrition, they are more attentive during lessons, more confident in their interactions, and better equipped to manage challenges. Healthy meals rich in essential nutrients help support brain development, strengthen immunity, and sustain energy throughout the school day. Simply put, good nutrition builds the foundation for stronger academic performance and positive wellbeing.
As parents, small and consistent choices at home can make a meaningful difference. Encouraging balanced meals, reducing overly processed snacks, and modelling healthy eating habits are powerful practices that shape lifelong attitudes toward wellness. When school and home work together, we create an environment where children can thrive โ physically, mentally, and academically.
Let us continue to nurture not only bright students, but healthy and resilient individuals ready to embrace every opportunity that learning brings. ๐ฑ

To our beloved Class of 2025,
When the IGCSE results were released, there was a quiet moment among the teachers.
Not of shock.
Not of celebration.
But of deep, overwhelming pride.
Because behind every result, we saw you โ the student who stayed back to try again, the one who doubted themselves but refused to give up, the one who grew not just academically, but as a person.
Today, we wish to honour our high achievers.
The following students have achieved exceptional results, and we are so proud of you. Yet what moves us most is not the grades themselves, but the journey you took to earn them โ with discipline, humility, and heart.
As teachers, there are moments that remind us why we chose this path.
This is one of them.
Watching you succeed feels like watching our own children take their first confident steps into the world.
Class of 2025, you have done more than excel.
You have shown courage, resilience, and belief โ even when it was hard.
Thank you for trusting us with your journey.
Congratulations on this beautiful milestone.
We are โ truly and sincerely โ so proud of you.

myFirst Safety Workshop ๐ธโจ
Keeping our children safe goes beyond rulesโit begins with understanding, awareness, and confidence.
Our primary students had the opportunity to take part in the myFirst Safety Workshop, a highly insightful session designed to equip young learners with essential safety knowledge for todayโs world. Through engaging activities and age-appropriate discussions, students learned how to recognise potential risks, make informed decisions, and respond responsibly in everyday situations.
A big thank you to .my, , and our sponsor .tech.my for organising such a meaningful workshop for our students. Experiences like these empower children with knowledge that stays with them beyond the classroom. ๐กโจ
A meaningful learning experience that truly supports our commitment to holistic education. ๐ฑ
