ATTENTION PARENTS!!! Has your child finished their Checkpoint examination and is now rotting away at home during the school holidays?

Have they decided to take up Additional Mathematics in the new schooling year, but have no idea what to expect from the subject? Would you like to give them a head start and a feel of what Additional Mathematics is all about? Or perhaps, you'd simply like them to spend their time more productively? Either way, this ad is for you.

For the first time, we will be opening our classes to everyone FOR FREE for the month of August. Not watered down classes, but a full lesson complete with notes and exercises. Classes are conducted weekly for 1.5 hours for the entire month.

Why you might ask? Firstly, we'd like to prepare our students in advance for the new schooling semester. Additional Mathematics has always been a bane for students, and we'd like to lend our expertise to help bridge their understanding between Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. And of course by doing so, we hope to promote our classes and entice our students to stay.

This offer is limited to a first come first served basis, so book your slot early to avoid any disappointments. Looking forward to seeing all of you on August 4th.

Some of the common examples of a 3-D shape with a curved surface are a cylinder, a cone and a sphere.
A cylinder has some properties that are similar to a prism, but it is not considered to be one. This is because a prism can only consist of flat surfaces, while a cylinder has a curved surface.
The total surface area & volume of a cylinder, cone & sphere can be calculated using formulas. (Formulas are included in the clip)

A flat faced 3-dimensional shape is a shape that is made up of only flat surfaces. Some common examples of these shapes include a cube, cuboid and prism.
A prism is a shape with 2 parallel and identical bases. These bases are commonly known as the cross section of the prism. The name of a prism will usually take after the shape of its cross section. For example, if the cross section is in the shape of a triangle, then it will be a called a triangular prism.
The total surface area & volume of a prism can be calculated using the formulas. (Please watch until the end)

A 3-dimensional shape is a shape that consist of 3 dimensions: a length, width and height/depth. Unlike polygons, 3-dimensional shapes can consist of both straight and curved lines.
The outline of the 3-dimensional shape is called the side/edge. The corner where two edges meet is known as the vertex of the shape. A flat or curved surface on the 3-dimensional shape is called the face of the polygon.
Some examples of common polygons are a cube, cuboid, prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone and sphere.

Food digestion in the mouth begins with chewing. Our teeth are designed to cut, tear and crush food into smaller pieces to aid in chemical digestion. Our salivary glands will also secrete saliva, which mixes with our food and helps to lubricate our food when it passes through our oesophagus.
Saliva also contains the enzyme amylase, which breaks down starch into maltose.
After a few moments of chewing, the food will be rolled into a ball called a bolus and swallowed into our oesophagus. Here, the food is taken to our stomach through a process called peristalsis.

Peristalsis is the rhythmic contraction and relaxation of the smooth muscles in our alimentary canal to push food through it.
