✨ 386th Club Meeting Recap | 13 April 2026 ✨
Theme: 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻
Our 386th meeting kicked off on a warm and engaging note with Toastmaster of the Evening, Leong Ho Ming, PI4, who invited everyone to share one thing they love without a reason. While some of us took a moment to ponder, the responses were heartfelt, thoughtful, and entertaining—proving that we all have something special we cherish, even without logic attached.
The evening continued with two wonderful prepared speeches.
🎤 Ling En Han, SR5 delivered his Icebreaker Speech titled “Fear Is the Mind Killer.” He bravely shared his journey of growing up as a quiet, introverted child with low self‑esteem, and how he once found the courage to stand up to a school bully. His story was both inspiring and relatable.
🎤 Next, Gavin Eng, DL3 took us on a delightful journey with his speech “I Went to Taiping.” Sharing stories from his first trip to Taiping—made at the invitation of his friend, John Ng—Gavin kept us thoroughly entertained with humorous moments and memorable encounters.
The meeting concluded with a strong evaluation session for both Table Topics and prepared speeches. We were privileged to learn from our experienced evaluators:
⭐ Kajamugan Jeyananthan, DTM, Program Quality Director
⭐ Meyyappa Manickam, DTM, Fast & Furious Toastmasters Club
⭐ Alan Ming, PI5, General Evaluator from Friendship Toastmasters Club
With quality speeches, insightful evaluations, and great camaraderie, members and guests alike thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. 🌟

Theme: Choosing Peace in Difficult Times
Word of the Day : Jialat
Not every day goes as planned. Some days test our patience, challenge our emotions, and push us out of our comfort zone. In those moments, choosing peace is not about avoiding problems, it’s about how we carry ourselves through them.
This meeting is a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with that sense of calm. Through speeches and conversations, we explore how staying composed can shape clearer thinking, stronger communication, and better decisions.
Come as you are, speak your thoughts, and discover how choosing peace can change the way you lead, listen, and respond.

Our meeting on 9 March 2026 saw a great turnout, with members and guests actively participating in an exciting range of Table Topics inspired by our theme, Free Wheeling.
Free wheeling means having the freedom to act in a relaxed, spontaneous, and carefree way—without strict rules, planning, or limitations. This spirit truly came alive during the Table Topics session, where speakers shared personal stories and memorable experiences of their own free‑wheeling moments.
We then enjoyed two engaging project speeches by Shwu Yan and Jazzlyn, who presented on Understanding Their Leadership Styles. Their speeches were both entertaining and insightful as they reflected on their leadership journeys and personal styles.
The evening concluded with Nicole Choe, who delivered her first speech from the DTM Project, titled Planting the Seeds of Environmental and Social Sustainability. Her speech inspired the audience to reflect on sustainability and our role in shaping a better future.
It was an evening filled with fun, learning, and meaningful insights, as the audience was both amused and enriched by the project speeches and Table Topics.
A big thank you to Dr. Saraswathy Thurairaj, DTM, our General Evaluator for the evening, for her valuable feedback and guidance to help our club improve.
✨ If you’re looking to build confidence in public speaking and leadership, join us at our next engaging meeting on Monday, 30 March 2026! ✨
