A floating book fair in Malaysia! ✨📚
Looking for a meaningful family outing this school holiday?
Last year, we visited the Doulos Hope Floating Book Fair at Kuching Port, not once but twice! It was such a gem. 🚢
Over 2000+ books on board- kids’ books, parenting books, cookbooks… all inside a ship! And the experience of walking through a ship full of books feels magical for little ones!
Sometimes the simplest moments become the core memories-
💫 choosing books together (swipe to see some of the books we bought!)
💫 sitting by the deck; we even had an 🍦sitting at the deck!
💫 slowing down and being present ❤️
If you’re planning a family day out, here are a few tips:
🌈 Pre-book your ticket online- saves time and guarantee entry
🌈 Expect crowds, especially on weekends and holidays
🌈 Go on weekdays if you can- lesser crowds, easier for kids, and more enjoyable browsing
🌈 Expect some outdoor waiting- get ready with hats or umbrella (just in case the waiting area is not covered)
📍Doulos Hope, Port Klang Cruise Terminal
📆 10 December 2025 - 4 January 2026

I cut the banana into half. 🍌
She cried like her world has fallen apart.
(Swipe till the end to see how sad she was 😭😭😭)
I almost said, “It’s just a banana! And the other half is still sitting on the table!”
But then I paused. Because I know it wasn’t about the banana.
Her right brain was flooded with emotion.
My job wasn’t to fix- it was to connect.
So, I said:”I know, you really wanted the whole banana. You are so upset, aren’t you?”
She calmed down and started to listen.
And honestly? It works almost every time.
Whether it’s a cut banana, a broken crayon, a snatched toy, or a cup that isn’t the “right” color- the principle is the same.
When we connect before we correct, their brain feels safe enough to learn. 🧠💫
Toddlers don’t lose it because they are being naughty; they lose it when their brain feels overwhelmed.
Next time:
❤️ Connect before you correct.
🧠 Name the feeling.
🌈 Redirect when calm.
It’s not about the banana- it’s about the brain. 🍌🧠
Save this for your next meltdown moment-
Your future self will thank you. 💛

From endless nights of nursing to sleep and not being able to go anywhere, to now sleeping independently and through the night. It took us one month, slowly but surely, we made it ❤️ Here’s what mommy of Ilyas said:
“When we decided to get into the sleep program, Ilyas was 13 month old. He was heavily dependent on nursing to sleep and wakes up about 4 to 5 times a night.
During the day, it’s contact nap all the way. We were even too scared to go out because we know he won’t be able to nap. But we were at our breaking point, so we took the leap of faith.
It was one of the best decision we made! Ilyas now sleeps independently and sleeps through the night. Nap time is much better, no more contact nap. We felt much confident in putting Ilyas to sleep.
I was worried Kexin would be too intense and that she won’t understand what we are going through. But, she is very supportive, understanding, patience while still being firm. We also like how the sleep program is personalized to our son’s needs as there are some of his daily routine that cannot be changed.
All and all, our lives have definitely changed and we own Kexin for that ❤️

One of the biggest challenges for new parents?
Getting your newborn to tell day from night! 🌙☀️
Their internal body clock develops gradually, and you can help it along with a few simple habits:
🌞 Light & activity by day
🌙 Calm & darkness by night
Start early- you’ll thank yourself in a few weeks when those night stretches lengthen 😴

“When we decided to get into the sleep program, Ilyas was around 13 month old. He was heavily dependent on nursing to sleep and wakes up about 4 to 5 times a night. During the day, it was contact nap all the way. We were even too scared to go out because we know he won’t be able to nap. But we were at our breaking point, so we took the leap of faith.
Turns out, it was one of the best decision we made. Ilyas now sleeps independently and sleeps through the night most days! Nap time is also better, no more contact nap. We still see room for improvement and the journey continues. With the skills and knowledge Kexin has provided, we feel confident.

“Before working with Dr Kexin, sleep training was endless guesswork. So much regression and we kept changing our approach with no real progress.
Naps and bedtime were exhausting, with Leyton needing to be carried and bounced to sleep.
With the structure and advice from Dr Kexin, we can now put him down confidently, knowing he’ll fall asleep on his own.
Wish we had done this sooner!”
Dillon,
Daddy of Leyton, 7mo
