At Learning Works, we specialise in helping students build a firm foundation in English. We help our students develop writing, communication and research skills that will stand them in good stead for a bright future. As an international language, English is of critical importance in today’s marketplace. Too many students are held back by their poor language skills. Students who make the switch fro

m national or vernacular schools to international schools often find it hard to cope with the level of English that is required of them. Our classes are kept intentionally small so that each student receives the individual feedback they need. We provide not only the big picture analysis in every piece of writing but also attention to detail (that means grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence construction and all the other good things), all of which are essential for engaging, well-crafted pieces.

We are starting a new online First Language English class (suitable for Years 7 and 8 ) in Jan 2025.

Ms Eileen helped me to really understand how to tackle my paper strategically. For example, highlighting which sections I needed to spend more time on as well as learning specific answering techniques for the different question types. She gave insightful feedback for my essays which helped me to identify areas I needed to specifically focus on as well as shared methods to ensure my writing was varied and could score in the exam. I have just recently got my English as a First Language IGCSE results back and want to say thank you to her for helping me achieve an A*!

Learning Work’s IGCSE English classes not only help students achieve their best scores, they also provide students with a deep and comprehensive grounding in the English language.

Our secondary-level IGCSE English classes help students think and write clearly and succinctly in order to score in their exams. This has been reflected by the significant number of high grades obtained by our students.

Homework submitted by students is marked very thoroughly. Students are told exactly how their writing can be improved; word by word, sentence by sentence, paragraph by paragraph.

Places are available in our classes on:

Thursday 6-7.30 pm (ESL)

Learning Works’ Creative Writing classes help students think creatively, structure their thoughts and ideas and write them all down in an engaging way.

Suitable for primary-level children, Learning Works’ Creative Writing classes start students off on the path of good writing. Being able to write well is a critical skill that will form the basis of success for all students, not just in school but also in work and life.
